Abdominal pain when you're pregnant is no joke (and should always be discussed with your midwife/doctor), but there IS a common culprit that you might be experiencing! 👉Continuing on with our Quick Tips for Pain Relief Series...have you heard of Round Ligament Pain??? You have a round ligament that helps support the uterus by connecting the front of the uterus to the groin region on both sides. It’s cord-like, and as your pregnancy progresses, it stretches. As this ligament stretches, it’s more likely to spasm or tighten easily. 😬 When this happens, you can have pain in your lower abdomen. While it’s more common on the right side, you can experience it on either side. It can be chronic for some women, or you may get a sharp pain when standing up, putting on pants, trying to get comfortable rolling over in bed, or often during sneezing or coughing. The best things to help your round ligament pain: 💙 change positions slowly, like when standing or rolling over 💙 bend your knees slightly before coughing or sneezing 💙 practice lunges or the warrior 1 yoga pose to stretch the area 💙 wear a maternity belt for support 💙 a heating pad or warm bath can go a long way too (just not too hot 🥵) 💙 try some gentle self massage or find a local myofascial release therapist to help release the area 💙 or reach out for a consult & I can talk you through specific releases to help! Have you experienced this in your pregnancy? What helped you??🤷♀️ 👉Plus, for more tips on pain relief... would you like to see a recording of my latest masterclass Pain Relief Mastery - 3 Strategies for Conquering Pain??? comment "Me" 🙋♀️ below! 👉👉Or... 👉Understanding Supine Hypotensive Syndrome During Pregnancy🤰 ➡️Supine Hypotensive Syndrome happens when you lie flat on your back during pregnancy. As your baby grows, the large uterus presses on a big vein called the inferior vena cava. ➡️This reduces blood flow to your heart, lowers your blood pressure, and can make you feel dizzy or faint. ➡️It also reduces blood and oxygen flow to your baby. 🟢To prevent this, lie on your left side. This keeps blood flowing properly and reduces the chance of symptoms. 🛑Remember, lying on your back isn’t good for you or your baby. Always try to rest on your left side for better comfort and health. #PregnancyTip #HealthyPregnancy #SupineHypotensiveSyndrome #PregnancyHealth #MamaToBe #PregnancyWellness #LeftIsBest #womenhealthphysio Your Physiohealer 🌱 Dr.Vandana Prakash(PT) https://lnkd.in/g9tYfwA4
