Our APRN on-site is Hilda Wist who enjoys treating lacerations. You may be wondering: how do lacerations compare to other hand wounds? ➡️Cut Wounds: Clean, straight incisions typically caused by sharp objects like knives or glass; edges are usually smooth. ➡️Puncture Wounds: Small, deep wounds created by sharp, pointed objects such as nails or needles; narrow entry with a risk of deep tissue damage. ➡️Lacerations: Irregular, jagged wounds often caused by blunt force trauma; edges are torn or ragged, and bleeding can be significant. ➡️Abrasions: Superficial wounds caused by friction scraping off the top layers of skin; often seen as scrapes or grazes, with minimal bleeding. Located just 500 feet from where the harbor connects to Lewis Bay, this four-story tower is designed to withstand sea-level rise, Category 4 hurricane storm surges and wind-borne debris. SmithGroup, who designed the Cape Cod Hospital project, included measures that ensure the site is elevated and protected from the impact of flooding. This innovative project will redefine cancer and clinical care for our community, as the new patient tower will offer radiation and medical oncology on the first two floors, dedicated space for cardiac care and recovery from interventional and surgical procedures and expanded capacity for critical care.
