Electrolux Group’s Post

Why do we and our partners IKEA, Kohler Co. and Procter & Gamble care about saving water? Because more than 30% of the world’s population is experiencing extreme water stress. That’s why our appliances are part of the 50L Home Coalition’s pilot project, which succeeded in reducing indoor water usage by over 20%, while consumers continued to enjoy a positive experience.  Homes in water-stressed Los Angeles were retrofitted with our washers and dryers, contributing to significant reductions in water and energy use. Our dishwashers have been installed for the next, ongoing phase in LA. “Our work with the 50L Home Coalition clearly demonstrates that our appliance innovations effectively help people to save water and energy, enabling a more sustainable life, every day” says Elena Breda, Chief Technology & Sustainability Officer, Electrolux Group. “These insights show technology is a key catalyst for effortless sustainability and also provides great user experiences.”  The 50L Home Coalition’s goal is to make it easy and irresistible to have a water-efficient lifestyle, in which 50 liters a day feels like 500, with lower energy use as well. #worldwaterday #50Lhome #waterscarcity #water #sustainability
