EQ Building Performance Inc’s Post

Building Envelope Performance Standards (BEPS) are being designed in Toronto, and while we wait for the plans to be released, this resource hub from The Atmospheric Fund (TAF) and City of Toronto is a great way to learn about what might be coming and how we can prepare. Existing buildings account for nearly 60% of the city's total GHG emissions; to meet the City's net-zero emissions targets, we will need clear retrofit and decarbonization strategies. Looking forward to seeing what strategies the City introduces! #netzero #existingbuildings #decarbonization #toronto #lowcarbonbuilding #energyefficiency #beps

💥We thrive in better buildings, and the City of Toronto is taking action to get us there. Building Emissions Performance Standards (BEPS) have the potential to lower emissions and energy costs, create local green jobs, and improve resident comfort. Other major cities like New York, Boston, Vancouver, Seattle, and Washington DC have already implemented BEPS, and Toronto has the opportunity to be a leader in the GTHA. Your input on the policy design is needed to ensure it’s effective and fair. We're excited to share our new BEPS resource hub: a dedicated webpage with all the latest reports, events, media, and more.
