When I started back in 1996 as an E&C graduate, developing communications software was my dream. My first job took me out in the field, managing GSM networks—a thrill, but for someone with a fear of heights, every cell tower climb was a nightmare! Moving to an “indoor” job in software felt like a luxury, and it opened doors to an entirely new way of impacting the industry. My daughter often says that five years in one company is enough, and while she’s not wrong in today’s world, our times were different. The industry was booming, with technology evolving at an exhilarating pace. Every project and role was new, unique, and filled with opportunities to create something transformative. I’ve been privileged to help develop groundbreaking products and solutions across 100+ projects for customers worldwide, always with a team of exceptional mentors and colleagues who inspired me to keep pushing boundaries. My family jokes that HCLTech has become part of who I am, and looking back on the incredible journey that’s taken me to 15+ countries and countless roles, it’s hard to disagree. Each project was a fresh challenge, each team a new collaboration, and each solution a chance to create meaningful impact. And while the industry has slowed down in recent years, the drive for innovation, resilience, and reinvention has only grown stronger. What has been truly humbling is the respect and trust that come from doing things with integrity and purpose. I may not have been a sprinter, but a marathon runner, committed to building technology that matters and leaving a lasting legacy in our field. To everyone—colleagues, customers, partners, and mentors—who has been part of this journey, thank you for the inspiration, the growth, and the memories.
