⭐ Driving inclusion forward: Honoring Disability Awareness Month ⭐ An inclusive environment starts with education and action. At Dentsply Sirona, our Employee Resource Group, ABLE@DS, is leading impactful initiatives that deepen understanding of the diverse experiences of people with disabilities. We recently hosted an online event featuring ambassadors from our Wellspect HealthCare brand who shared their personal journeys of living with a disability. This virtual panel offered attendees insights into the day-to-day challenges and triumphs of those with disabilities, fostering greater awareness and empathy. Through open discussions we were able to connect meaningfully, providing both inspiration and practical advice for creating a more inclusive society. Recently, we celebrated the success of STEPtember, where our global colleagues came together to take over 10 million steps and raise more than AUS$2,300 for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, an organization dedicated to supporting people with cerebral palsy and funding research into the condition. Together, we took meaningful steps towards a more inclusive future. 💪 On October 9, our location in Bensheim, Germany, had the honor of taking part in the nationwide “Schichtwechsel” campaign day for the first time! "Schichtwechsel," which translates to "Shift Change," is a German initiative aimed at promoting inclusion in the workplace. On this day, employees from the Behindertenhilfe Bergstraße gGmbH (bhb), a non-profit that supports people with disabilities, spent the day collaborating and exchanging with some of our production employees. A great initiative that breaks down barriers and paves the way for more inclusion in the world of work! 🌍✨ As we honored Disability Awareness Month this October, we celebrated the contributions of people with disabilities and emphasized the importance of inclusion, accessibility, and equity. Fostering true inclusion starts with learning. Only by understanding can we act in ways that promote inclusivity for all. 💙 #Dentistry #Inclusion #Equality #Disability #DentsplySirona #ProudToBeDS #DSTakingAction

International Day of People With Disability: Advocating for Inclusion and Empowerment International Day of Disabled Persons is celebrated annually on December 3rd, a significant occasion dedicated to promoting the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of fostering an inclusive society that recognizes and values the contributions of all its members, regardless of their abilities. It also highlights the ongoing challenges faced by people with disabilities and the collective responsibility to remove barriers and create opportunities for empowerment. 👉🏻 Understanding Disabilities: Disabilities include physical, mental, intellectual, and sensory impairments that limit participation in society. According to WHO, over one billion people, or 15% of the global population, live with some form of disability. Many face barriers like social stigma, discrimination, and limited access to essential services. Disabilities can be visible or invisible, permanent or temporary, and understanding their diversity is vital for creating effective inclusion policies. 👉🏻 Advocating for Inclusion and Empowerment: The International Day of Disabled Persons promotes awareness and empowerment, focusing on inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities. Objectives include raising awareness about challenges faced by individuals with disabilities, advocating for barrier removal, upholding rights under the UNCRPD, and encouraging their participation in decision-making processes. 👉🏻 The Role of Nextcare.Life: Nextcare.Life champions inclusive healthcare through technology. Its Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) provide personalized solutions, considering the needs of individuals with disabilities. By integrating accessible features, Nextcare.Life ensures equitable healthcare while promoting disability awareness and empowerment within the sector. International Day of Disabled Persons emphasizes inclusion and the need for collective action to support individuals with disabilities. By raising awareness, promoting accessibility, and empowering communities, we can build a society that values diversity and equality. Nextcare.Life remains committed to enhancing healthcare access and creating a future where everyone, regardless of ability, thrives. This significant achievement coincides with National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), making the certification even more impactful as we continue our work in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across different employment sectors. With this DOBE certification, Inclusive Excellence Consulting joins a network of businesses that are at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by individuals with disabilities. “Receiving the DOBE certification during National Disability Employment Awareness Month is especially meaningful for us,” said Mary McConner, Ph.D., CDE®. “This recognition highlights the contributions of disability-owned businesses and affirms our commitment to driving inclusion at all levels of business." As a disability- and neurodiverse-owned enterprise, we are dedicated to creating environments where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. NDEAM, held every October, celebrates the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities and promotes inclusive employment practices. As part of this month’s focus on disability inclusion, we aim to highlight the importance of businesses supporting diverse suppliers, including those owned by individuals with disabilities.
