Any social media manager can tell you about it from first hand experience, but here’s the data, and it’s a 1-2 punch: > 67% of customers prefer to use social media for customer support > 75% expecting a reply within 24 hours A whopping 22% want that response in 1-2 hours 🤯 For social media and customer care teams, this creates some pretty obvious challenges. Most companies track a small handful of technologies. Then use that info for competitive takeouts. However, a customer I spoke to this week, told me they are tracking 50+ technologies! Why so many? This is what they told me... Tech stack is used for a wide variety of different reasons that informs: 1. Where their GTM team should spend time 2. What campaign should be run for that specific account 3. Propensity to buy These are some of the plays that were mentioned: 1. Competitive takeout (of course) play 2. Collaborative / complimentary story play 3. Consolidation & spend reduction play 4. Maturity level play In other conversations, I've learned that customers also use tech stack to: 1. Understand the prevalence of a specific technology to help prioritize roadmap or integrations. 2. Refine their ICP (work backwards from Closed Won to figure out what the commonalities are) 3. Event targeting 4. Create targeted content 5. Form better discovery questions ahead of time for calls 6. Predictive analytics 7. Having a great idea and product doesn't equate to great sales. The only reason you will have great sales is to speak the language of your audience. How do you speak the language of your audience? I. Understand your audience. II. Understand the psychology of sales. Your research gives you the information you need to attract your prospects, while sales psychology helps you position your idea, brand, or product in the eyes of your prospect, in an irresistible manner.
