With the budget round the corner it is time for us to pitch for Fiscal rectitude all over! Hope allocations to innovation, R&D and infrastructure rise to highest levels, the simplified tax regime with lower rates both in direct and indirect taxes and a simplified structure come in place. We will need to refocus on ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. The days of ubiquitous technology availability and cheap Chinese goods are over. We need to lead with AI, technology and innovation through the best Human Resources in the world.

You know, when we talk about uplifting large sections of society, we need to consider the strategies we're putting on the table. Take a moment to think about it: would policies like wealth survey, redistribution, and inheritance tax really cut it in the long run? If political parties truly aspire to uplift large sections of society, the notion of implementing a trifecta of policies involving wealth survey, redistribution, and inheritance tax warrants careful consideration. However, it's imperative to acknowledge that such measures may not necessarily serve the long-term interests of citizens or the nation's prosperity. The idea of conducting a pan India wealth survey, for instance, raises concerns about its implications on individual rights and privacy. Delving into the private finances of citizens, similar to practices seen in totalitarian regimes, challenges the democratic principles upon which our society is built. Furthermore, the proposal for wealth redistribution, while intended to address socio-economic disparities, risks stifling economic growth and disincentivizing individual contribution to the nation's progress. In addition to these concerns, the introduction of inheritance tax further complicates the landscape, potentially burdening citizens with additional financial constraints. Rather than fostering an environment conducive to growth and prosperity, such policies may inadvertently hinder the path towards equitable development. Instead, what is truly needed is a concerted effort towards long-term vision and investment in basic infrastructure by the government. By prioritizing initiatives that enhance education, healthcare, and essential services, policymakers can lay the foundation for sustainable progress and societal upliftment. Let's advocate for policies that prioritize the well-being and prosperity of all citizens, steering away from short-sighted measures that undermine individual rights and economic stability. It’s not smooth sailing For many Indians, the general election result in June was a stunning repudiation of Narendra Modi, India’s prime minister. But to hear him speak of it, that isn’t the case. He insists that, despite the loss of his party’s parliamentary majority, which has forced him to rely on coalition partners, the vote was for “continuity”. He has barely changed his cabinet since cobbling together a government. He has doubled down on pledges to turn India into a developed country by 2047, the centenary of its independence. And his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is campaigning for imminent regional elections on a familiar platform of development and Hindu nationalism. The new government also claims to have completed a plan for its first 100 days that Mr Modi and his ministers started to compile as soon as campaigning started. Mr Modi ordered all ministries to report their progress, details of which were published on September 17th, the 100th day of his third term and also his birthday.
