What if clinicians prescribed produce like they do medications? What is a #nutritionprescription ? Well, it doesn't have anything to do with prescription medication, but it may be just as important to your health.🍎🥦 A growing number of studies have found that access to fresh fruits and vegetables can significantly improve health outcomes, and that programs like these can help combat conditions such as obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. These programs gained attention after the 2022 White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health decided to prioritize access to nutrition for users of Medicaid and Medicare. 🌿✨ Check out this article to learn more about this initiative, and how you may qualify for these programs: https://lnkd.in/gcxcsV9m #healthinnovation #freshproduce #Pills2Me #CareDelivered

Dr A says that for the first time in history, 55% of all insured Americans are taking prescription medications regularly for chronic health problems such as high blood pressure and cholesterol – problems often linked to heart disease, obesity, and diabetes. And on average, they take four different medications! These are the individuals tracking on the red line and the trajectory of their story and health is a losing battle against time. You will supplement with vital nutrients as needed to make sure you are optimizing your intake of food and supplements. Nutrients aren’t like medication. While medications are foreign intruders that work temporarily in acute situations (often with side effects), nutrients are already present in our body. By supplementing them in just the right amount, you are simply helping your body reach its optimal efficiency. In fact, nutrients are the very fuel of optimal health!

In Europe, June is “Smile Month,” a time dedicated to emphasizing the importance of oral healthcare! Many may not realize that oral health significantly impacts overall health, contributing to issues across various medical fields. In the US, we need to acknowledge that oral health is just as crucial as other healthcare sectors. Unfortunately, it’s often treated as secondary by payers, resulting in inadequate coverage. The maximum benefits for restorative treatments, extractions, implants, and jaw care are alarmingly insufficient. A healthy bite is essential for proper chewing, and when people experience pain and difficulty eating, it can lead to nutritional deficiencies and subsequent gastro, cardio, and muscular issues. It’s time for the US to recognize the importance of oral health and provide adequate benefits so individuals can receive the care they need! 👍🏼Thanks to Nutritank CIC for a collective response. The Soups and Shakes program shows promising short-term results BUT… 🤞🏽lacks long-term data. It oversimplifies the broader lifestyle factors contributing to the disease. The study's approach, while potentially transformative for some.. 👩🏽⚕️Is not universally applicable and reveals significant disparities in remission rates across different ethnic groups. To ensure sustainable diabetes management and prevent related health conditions… a more comprehensive lifestyle intervention and long-term follow-up are necessary. 🍜I appreciate that the soup and shake diet has its long term follow up, but this is not the revolutionary aspect. It gradually brings in meals one at a time over a period of time. 🪇Why is the second half of the program so overlooked… and why does it feel like an add on to get the first part of the program (soups and Shakes) over the line? 1️⃣Medical professionals like ABSOLUTE interventions that can be studied (without the impact of human behaviour) 2️⃣Yet human behavioural science combined with healthy lifestyles is the essence of long term change, alongside the environment we live in. 3️⃣The second half of the program is related to point 2. A soups and shakes diet goes towards point 1. 4️⃣We love to pigeon hole a medicines-like approach to the diet and lifestyle issues… 5️⃣The coaching factor is ignored. Which then means we have these programs taking precedence. And they do help push the reset button. 🫵🏽But what if the computer just turns on back to the same error message? https://lnkd.in/ewVauV7W
