#HKBU’s pioneering innovations in sports science projects were showcased at the Guangdong-Hong Kong Technology Showcase yesterday at HKCEC. We were honored to welcome Mr Wang Weizhong, Governor of Guangdong Province; Mr C.Y. Leung, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; Mr Zheng Yanxiong, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR; Hon. Duncan Chiu, Member of the Legislative Council of the HKSAR; and Dr Rocky Cheng, CEO of Cyberport Hong Kong. These esteemed guests were warmly received by the HKBU team, including Prof. Alex Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Terence Lau, Interim Chief Innovation Officer; Prof Patrick Lau, Department Chair from the Department of Sports and Health Sciences; along with other members of the research team. One of the projects presented was the Real-time Human Data Metrics which monitors athletes’ health conditions in multi-location environmental conditions tracked in real-time. Going forward, HKBU will collaborate with relevant parties in Hong Kong and Guangdong Province to apply this technology at the upcoming 15th National Games of China later this year.
