I was honoured to be invited to the China Development Forum this past weekend as guest speaker and panelist.   Alongside other distinguished panelists, I discussed the dramatic transformation of Mainland China's economy—one of the most remarkable growth stories of our time -- from my vantage point during my career in Hong Kong's financial industry.    At the same time, Hong Kong has evolved into Asia’s leading IFC, playing a crucial role in supporting that continued growth.   The recent 'DeepSeek moment' has captured global investors’ attention, prompting a reassessment of China's AI capabilities.   As a superconnector between China and the world, Hong Kong is committed to cultivating these new capital sources, as we further elevate our relevance in the global financial ecosystem.
