Concrete is the most widely used building material in the world. With so much of our infrastructure reliant on it, we must find ways to monitor the condition of structures to ensure the safety of the people who use them. Defects and cracks identified early reduce the likelihood of catastrophic failure and reduce the expense of repairs. In this project, the client wanted to increase automation and robotics to improve the installation and monitoring of the life of sizeable pre-cast concrete (PCC) sections, bringing about a series of technology developments from i3D robotics.
