Stoked to be talking about how Supabase migrated 1 million databases from IPv4 to IPv6 with Kapil Pendse at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Singapore summit today! This was one of the biggest projects we worked on as a team and almost the entire company was involved in the migration. Chris Chandler and I would love to meet if any of you are at the event. 👋🏽

I am proud to share that Timestream for InfluxDB now supports IPv6 connectivity. Now you can chose to configure your Timestream for InfluxDB instances in Dual-Stack mode, which allows you to use both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses future proving your deployments. Kudos to our team for their amazing work this year which allowed us not only to launch the service in March'24 but then expand to 9 new regions and add 7 new exiting features in just 9 months. More to come! #AWS #AmazonTimestream #InfluxDB #timeseries Learn more about this launch : https://lnkd.in/gU5uuWzn Curious about InfluxDB on AWS ? https://lnkd.in/gcRg8csc

AWS PrivateLink just made inter-region connectivity simpler and more secure! With native cross-region connectivity, you can now: 🔗 Connect Interface VPC endpoints to services across AWS Regions without setting up additional infrastructure. 🛡️ Privately access VPC endpoint services in other regions—no more cross-region peering or public internet exposure. 👉 Service Providers: Enable your VPCE services for customers worldwide, seamlessly scaling across regions without extra complexity. 👉 Service Consumers: Enjoy private, secure, and cost-efficient connectivity to services hosted in different AWS regions via Interface endpoints. https://lnkd.in/ewnc6AgB

AWS PrivateLink now supports native cross-region connectivity. Until now, Interface VPC endpoints only supported connectivity to VPC endpoint services in the same region. This launch enables customers to connect to VPC endpoint services hosted in other AWS Regions in the same AWS partition over Interface endpoints.

One of the most costly parts of AWS for many teams is the NAT Gateway. AWS Managed NAT Gateways allow components running in your private network (VPC) to reach internet resources and other AWS resources. You pay a flat fee hour to have them enabled and an additional fee based on the amount of traffic flowing through them. If you have multiple VPCs and multiple accounts that each have their own NAT Gateways the costs can be quite high for the flat fee components. One approach you could take is to use a Transit Gateway and have all the VPCs connected to it and use 1 or a small number of NAT Gateways that all the VPCs share. This article from Emsii shows all the details required to set this up. https://lnkd.in/e5z62-zH

Excited to share that Hugging Face Inference Endpoints now support shared VPC Endpoints and Secrets. > With Shared Private Services, you can connect multiple Inference Endpoints to the same AWS VPC endpoints. Your requests never touch the public internet, secured by VPC-to-VPC communication. Setup once use it for all your inference endpoints > Secrets provide a secure way to manage credentials or other sensitive information for custom container deployments or custom handlers. This is an extension of my previous blog, where I explain how VPC Lattice simplifies connectivity between ECS services across different accounts and VPCs, as well as enabling access to services like ALB and Lambda when they are in separate accounts/VPCs. The post also includes a GitHub repository with Terraform code to demonstrate these features. Feel free to give it a try! 😀
