4 months ago, we posted the very first video that had me on camera. We were at India’s largest SaaS conference, SaaSBoomi. I was at the event with our Head of Products Raabia Thakur and Head of Marketing Amitabh Ramani. On a hunch, 2 of us got on camera, and filmed a 36-second video. We did 2 takes in less than 5 minutes, uploaded one of them onto LinkedIn and walked into the conference. We had no idea how it would be received. 46 Likes, 1500+ impressions within 48 hours! And we were off and running… And now, some 4 months into it, we are on our 22nd video. So 1+ videos/week. Here’s what we know so far. Folks want authenticity. They want us to be fun and different, not take ourselves too seriously. It’s less about the video production value. It’s even less about talking heads with headphones on, repeating the same basic theme - video after video - in 200 different ways. Most of all, folks want something useful as a takeaway - something they can act on, or pass along as a tip to a colleague. All this in exchange for 2 minutes or so of their time Our videos are in one of two formats… (a) in public places, look straight into the camera, sun glasses on (yeah, Bollywood movie star style 🙂), easy conversational talk track. Connect the place we are at, people we just met, and insights we just picked up to B2B Go-to-Market (GTM) problems we solve for, and the B2B Revenue Leader and Founder audiences we serve. OR (b) use a good ole’ fashioned white board to explain a B2B Go-to-Market (GTM) concept or demand gen tactic, or share a Customer Success Story. Help someone watching pick up something that maybe they haven’t thought about (yet)… We’re gonna keep trying!
