Very conveniently timed after I posted something on humour in general and DG MEME in particular, my communication bible - Tom Moylan's newsletter - arrives with a text on "thought leadership". I'm even more allergic to jargon than the author of this useful text, so I'd say it is quite simply about how to get your message across. Among the examples of "thought leadership", we find that "even memes can be thought leadership". I'd skip the word "even" considering how effective memes are - if you get them right. The layers of irony and internet references are mind-blowing. Just search the story of Kabosu and the Doge meme.

Can I be honest for a moment? I was in the restaurant industry for over a decade! Food is my life blood. The one thing that makes me so sad about food related social media content is that it does not give power to the chefs & small business owners. I had a call with a restaurant owner, and they said this, "The influencers who cover our restaurant is always about them. We are left out of the video, and become another restaurant. Our story is not told." I created this documentary as a result to the phone call. It is an observational documentary that sheds lights on the working dynamic between a husband & wife who run a Portland pizzeria. As a director, my goal was to humanize the Turning Peel because Candy & Akshay are very sweet business owners. I believe my production company can revolutionize the way we create food centered media by making it human centered. Cheers to more!
