The first half of the Chartered For Success Conference hosted by CPA Ontario #CPAOCFS 2025 conference has been absolutely inspiring! Brenda Vethanayagam, CPA, CA's keynote set the perfect tone for the day, and Kelly Makway’s session on Generative AI left me completely captivated. Gaining insights into how AI is transforming finance and accounting were both eye-opening and exciting. From automating routine processes like reconciliations to unlocking $1.6 trillion in productivity gains globally, Kelly's session highlighted the incredible potential for folks in finance to shift focus from transactional tasks to strategic decision-making. Impressed to see how generative AI is not just a tool for efficiency but a catalyst for innovation that reshaping how we approach financial modeling, risk management, and even audit processes. As someone passionate about the progress of AI and the future of finance, I’m inspired by how this technology is redefining traditional roles and empowering us to drive real value for businesses. Thank you, CPA Ontario, for creating a space to explore these critical advancements and foster such meaningful conversations in the field. Looking forward to the second half of the conference and meeting everyone at the networking event later today!

As promised, in today’s first episode of my many failures to make you feel better: *Took 3 years to pass my first German level class. *Applied for a manager position at ICHEC Junior Consult. Rejected. *Lost the Best Junior Enterprise final in 2021-2022. Awarded 2nd Best JE. *Failed my second year. *Finalist and defeated at the Monitor Deloitte Challenge, promised myself that it would be the last time I’d finish second. *A few months later, finalist and defeated again at the McKinsey & Company Pitch Challenge. Humbled myself, learned that finishing second is okay if you still learn something from it. All those failures served as the foundation for my successes : at the end of the day, I graduated while proudly being the president of Belgium's best Junior Enterprise in 2022-2023 ICHEC Junior Consult. College is not made to build success, but to build resilience: it’s not about how successful you are, it’s about how resilient you are. Keep your long-term objectives in sight and stay on the right track. Sorry for sounding so cliché 😉

Held in collaboration with BAP Monash University and Beta Alpha Psi - University of Sydney, this is a great opportunity to test yourself by tackling a real business issue, get hands-on experience in management consulting and receive feedback from McKinsey consultants. 🙌 We strongly encourage all students to register and have a go, especially if this is your first case competition. 🔍 You’ll apply your analytical skills and business acumen to solve a case modelled against McKinsey's live cases. 🌟COMPETITION STRUCTURE🌟 Working in teams of 2-4 people (priority given to BAP members). Registering as an individual places you in a group with other individual registrants. As there are limited spots, please note that preference will be given to existing groups.
