Albert Einstein felt like a fraud, especially in his later years. There were even times when Sheldon (Bing Bang Theory) felt inferior -- even though his neurodivergent brain didn't leave room for that nonsense! Imposter syndrome is normal. A healthy dose of it can keep you motivated to do your best work, for your business and especially for your clients. An unhealthy dose can put you in a downward spiral which compromises your success. EVERYone feels imposter syndrome at some point in their careers. I've been a marketer for over 34 years and there are times when I'm on social media thinking: 'hmmm, I don't get that kind of engagement'. And then I realize how much bull 💩 that thought is. High engagement does not equal business success, revenue, or happiness. During my ideal customer attraction training with the Vegan Business TribeⓇ, I talked about not faking it 'til you make it, but getting the training you need to uplevel any skills that will bring you forward. And if you're just starting out and don't have any testimonials or results to get the clients you want, offer a pro bono service to get your first idea client who will help you get your next ideal paid client. What an easy sales pitch which will give you confidence! You just have to make the decision to do it and stop letting your fear of not being who you feel you need to be at this moment rule your life. Ok, that's all I have to say about that right now. You are worthy. Period. Create on and prosper, 🐾 Jessica 🍀 #ImposterSyndrome #EthicalMarketing
Great post and something I can relate to for sure. Whilst working in corporate so many people would say ‘fake it till you make it’ and it always made me feel uncomfortable in so many ways. I think faking it in any way just isn’t good for us or our businesses. Authenticity and imperfect action is much better!
Such an important topic of conversation, think I swing between the doses!
