Tariffs aren’t just a tax on imports; they’re a tax on efficiency. Take North America—where parts for cars, appliances, and machinery cross borders multiple times before assembly. Slapping tariffs on Mexico and Canada doesn’t just raise costs; it throws a wrench into a finely tuned machine. As Dave Rosenberg puts it, auto parts can cross borders five or six times before final assembly—meaning a 25% tariff stacks up fast. Do tariffs really help, or are we taxing our own supply chain? It is the wrong doings for the last 40 years that have made US inefficient. Not much left in this country but people continue to make excuses to sell its guts.
No kidding?
Very informative
You’re making too much sense. Does anyone in the Oval Office realize it takes years to retool an automative plant. It’s not a light switch
Coming soon to an America near you... Inflation nation https://sickdividends.com/2025/01/14/inflation-crushing-stocks-for-the-trump-era/
Informative, but unfortunately useless when our country is unreliable and laser focused on a Heritage Foundation plan to take us back to 1895.

1moValue added tax is also a tax on the supply chain… every other country has VAT except the US. When I read your post I felt that this is just another regurgitation of what the rest of the world thinks because it’s bad for them. Tariffs can help with Fair trade… free trade is not free. It’s a transfer of wealth. Definitely interesting times. Prices will go up but so will jobs… I hope it works out. We can theorize and come up with data all we want but none of us knows how it will work out in the end. I think oil prices will help counter inflation, when we drill like never before. We will see.
