Using agencies for finding your next job can offer a multitude of benefits. 🚀 Agencies have access to a wide network of employers, including those who may not advertise their vacancies publicly. This gives candidates a competitive edge by increasing their chances of landing interviews with top companies. 💼 Furthermore, agencies often have insights into the job market and can provide valuable guidance on industry trends, salary expectations, and in-demand skills. This knowledge can be instrumental in helping candidates navigate their job search effectively. 📊 Working with an agency also streamlines the job search process. Instead of sifting through countless job listings, candidates receive curated opportunities that align with their skills and career goals. This saves time and effort while increasing the likelihood of securing a role that is the right fit. ⏳ Ultimately, partnering with a recruitment agency can empower candidates to find their ideal job faster and with greater ease. Their expertise, connections, and personalized approach can make a significant difference in landing a fulfilling and rewarding career opportunity. 💡 #RecruitmentAgency #JobSearchTips #CareerDevelopment

📢 How to Maximize Your Relationship with a Recruiter 📢 In my last post, I shared why staying connected with a recruiter can be a game-changer for your career. Today, I want to focus on how you can make the most out of this valuable relationship. Here are some practical steps: 1. Keep Your Resume Updated: Even if you're not actively job hunting, having an up-to-date resume means you're always ready to seize opportunities. Make sure it reflects your latest achievements and skills. 2. Communicate Your Career Goals: Be clear with your recruiter about your career aspirations, interests, and any specific roles or companies you're interested in. This helps them tailor their search to your preferences. 3. Be Responsive: If a recruiter reaches out with an opportunity or advice, respond promptly. This shows your engagement and keeps you top of mind for future opportunities. 4. Leverage Their Market Insights: Don’t hesitate to ask your recruiter about industry trends, salary benchmarks, and skill demands. This information can help you make informed career decisions. 5. Seek Feedback: Use your recruiter as a resource for feedback on your resume, LinkedIn profile, and interview skills. Constructive criticism from an expert can be invaluable. 6. Stay Connected: Regularly check in with your recruiter, even if it’s just to update them on your current status. Building a long-term relationship ensures they understand your evolving career needs. 7. Be Open to Opportunities: Sometimes the best opportunities come when you least expect them. Be open-minded about considering new roles or industries that your recruiter suggests. Building a strong relationship with a recruiter takes effort, but the rewards can be significant. By following these steps, you can maximize the benefits of having a recruiter in your corner. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further advice on working with a recruiter. Let's stay connected and keep growing together! 🚀 #CareerAdvice #Recruitment #Networking #CareerGrowth #careerslaunch

Applying for a new role can be really tough in the current market. The 400/500 number of applications on the role you’re about to apply to can be off putting. Endless applications that take hours to fill out just to receive a ‘Thanks but no thanks’ emails to that effect can challenge those with the most zen mentality. Here are a few tips to help you structure your searching journey: 🕯 Create a tracker of all of your job applications – have the date you applied, job, link to the post, the point of contact for the role and a notes column 🕯 Connect with the recruiter/hiring manager who has posted the role with a short note to say you’ve applied for the role 🕯 If/when they connect send them a message to let them know you’ve applied for the role – keep this short and to the point 🕯 If you are interested in a role apply as quickly as you can, especially if the application numbers is below 100 as then you’re CV will be in the first haul of CVs and more likely to processed/progressed to interview 🕯 Follow up with the hiring manager/ talent team 3-5 working days after your application (make a note of this on your tracker) As well as this I would recommend the following: 🕯 Reach out to your network, is an ex-colleague working in a business where you’d like to work? Ask them to make an intro 🕯 Send your CV out to businesses you’d like to work with even if there isn’t a role being advertised 🕯 Register your details with specialist recruiters who can then keep you posted with new and upcoming roles 🕯 Don’t spend the entire day applying for roles – split it up with doing something wholesome so you feel like you’ve achieved something for the day. Paint that room you’ve been meaning to, clear out the shed etc. have a tangible goal What did you do in your search that helped secure a role? With what it feels like a higher number of people looking for roles it’s important to share our knowledge and experience to help anyone who needs it. #recruitmenttips #jobsearchtips

Why do we stay in a job that isn’t right for us? The most common reason according to my recent poll was finances, closely followed by the fear of getting another job. The 2 are closely linked and it is true to say that it has been a challenging job market over the last 18 months. However, in my experience of working with people that have been made redundant a lot of companies are hiring and there are plenty of jobs out there. But it’s scary, it takes work, and it is unpredictable. Even if you are in HR and have done a lot of recruiting it feels very different when you are on the other side of the fence. Here are some tips if you want to look for a new job but aren’t sure where to start. 1. Get your CV up to date. It needs to be Applicant Tracking System (ATS) friendly and have achievements with measurable results for your last couple of roles. Sites like jobscan can help you check if your CV is ATS ready. 2. You also need to update LinkedIn. You can change your setting so that any changes you make aren’t published while you are working on it. You can also change your settings to show yourself as “open to work” for recruiters only while you are working. You need a photo on your profile. Statistics show less engagement with profiles without photos. 3. Talk to recruiters confidentially and start to understand the market 4. Set up job searches on LinkedIn and Indeed and make sure you have the key words that are in the adverts on your CV. 5. Talk to people you trust in your network and make them aware of what you are looking for. A significant proportion of jobs are never advertised. You increase your chances of finding a role if you engage with your network. We all feel more comfortable with a recommendation. Good Luck and remember that even HR people find CVs and interviews challenging. If you need support with any of this, book a call.
