🚕 Nearly a decade after Singapore began permitting trials of autonomous vehicles in 2015, progress in the sector, initially slow, is now gaining momentum. In 2020, Singapore claimed the top spot on KPMG’s 2020 Autonomous Vehicles Readiness Index, outperforming 29 other countries, including the United States and China. ✍️ Story by Collins Eshiet https://lnkd.in/gtyRgF_r #AutonomousVehicles #Automotive #Robotaxi

Good discussion with Christien Kafton from KTVU 2 yesterday on the recent news about autonomous vehicles being targeted by taggers. We discussed the challenges that come with deploying advanced technologies in urban environments and the societal response to change. While incidents like this raise important questions, they also highlight the emphasis that these innovative companies are placing on passenger safety--both inside and outside of the vehicles. #AutonomousVehicles #Waymo #UrbanMobility #Innovation #SmartCities https://lnkd.in/eQ525gBB

Will our food be delivered by autonomous robots in the future? No, not in the future, but right now! Starship Technologies delivery robots are already part of the street scene in some cities in Europe and the USA. More than six million deliveries have been successfully made with the small, autonomous vehicle, and expansion into other countries is imminent. However, the company, which was founded in Estonia in 2014, is not yet present in Switzerland. Nevertheless, autonomous delivery vehicles are nothing new here either. In 2023, for example, our partner LOXO ran a successful pilot project with its autonomous delivery vehicle "Alpha", which delivered the groceries ordered by Schindler Group employees completely autonomously on a public road. Would you have your groceries delivered by an autonomous vehicle? #autonomousdelivery #robotaxi #newmobility #futureofmobility #loxo #starship

Autonomous delivery vehicles prototypes are being tested by Clevon, an Estonia-based technology company, at its facilities in Northlake, located half an hour's drive north of downtown Fort Worth. Clevon's autonomous vehicles have already been tested on the streets of various cities in Europe and their success has led them to be tested in the United States as well. The tests performed by Clevon and Post Net, a parcel delivery service, in North Texas have been very promising. According to Meelis Anton, Clevon's U.S. Chief Operating Director, the community has been very open to the concept, the autonomous vehicle has added value to Post Net, and people have liked the pick-up feature due to convenience. This positive experience makes it likely that these autonomous delivery robots will become a future reality for North Texas. If you're wondering how these autonomous delivery robots work, read on for more information. Read more: https://lnkd.in/ehZmuxNA

DHL has partnered with Oxa for an autonomous vehicle project at Heathrow. DHL Supply Chain has completed its first deployment of an autonomous vehicle in live airport traffic at Heathrow, safely completing 1300km of autonomous driving in 14 days. By leveraging autonomous vehicles and AI, the project aims to assist the Aviation industry in understanding how it can unlock a sustainable and scalable logistics solution with an innovative, long-term approach. Ahead of deployment, the autonomous vehicle, driven by Oxa’s self-driving software, undertook a series of installation exercises at Heathrow, ensuring safety and enabling the vehicle to integrate seamlessly into the complex airside environment. The vehicle ran autonomously on the first day of the project, requiring no specialist modifications or accommodations. Its performance was continually optimised throughout the two-week period, resulting in all performance and safety benchmarks being met.
