Out Of My Mind On A Tuesday Mornin'! Nothing like Prime. Amazon Prime that is. Huge article in last weekend's WSJ highlighting how Walmart is the only competitor to Amazon and how they are slowing gaining market share. About 10% of their total business is online, albeit, they are still losing money. However, what Walmart still has failed to realize is the allure of Prime and that includes Prime fulfillment. Walmart only utilizes third-party resellers in its online business and store inventory. It's no wonder Amazon is on pace to take over Walmart as the world's biggest retailer this year. Nothing better than seeing Prime trucks at our building! Are Your Eyes Still Shut? Most likely you have a stock portfolio aside from your 401(k). Human behavior is to look at it often when the market is green and not so much when the market is red. And when the market is crashing, we never want to look at it which is exactly what has happened in the past few days. When will it be safe to open your eyes again? When Trump's tariffs actually happen and what the Fed ends up doing with interest rates. Downside: Trump didn't rule out a recession Sunday. Upside: Oversold market. Resort service fees: I'm a frequent traveler and love Mexico. However, resort service charges and fees are out of hand. Unlike USA resorts, you pay a 15% daily charge based on your room rate. If the resort offers rooms at $1000 and $3000 per day, you pay either $150 or $450 per day in fees but receive the same services. It's a total rip-off. Worse, resorts are now adding fees to use the spa, certain watercraft, snacks in the room, RT airport transfers and much more. On top of this, most resorts offer butler service which results in additional tips. And don't forget to add 19% Mexico taxes to the rates. Bye-Bye Equinox- Just another brand that I had to write off. Why? They eliminated SoulCycle from their app and now you have to pay a $45 monthly fee in addition to the $250 monthly fee for the gym. Total bullshit. Solution? The Peloton App for $240 a year. This is the best fucking workout app I have ever experienced from cycling to meditation to yoga to outdoor walking. Love it and I don't miss SoulCycle for a second. Solicitations: Have you noticed a huge increase of solicitations in your inbox and LI account? We have an amazing spam filter, however, I am shocked how many get of these still get through. Have you ever responded to a single solicitation? I now have to with my favorite response: STOP Daylight Savings Time: Love the longer evenings but hate the process. Trump is finally in favor of eliminating it, and that would be amazing. Weather: Mid 60's and sunny in Detroit this week, love it!
