DeepCast shipped a number of really cool new features recently in advance of a broad outreach push to podcast listeners. One new feature is our new Daily DeepDigest tool that sends you a concise daily email including any new episodes from the trailing 24 hours from any podcasts you Subscribe to (on DeepCast). Think daily podcast cliff notes or podcast news ticker tape, with a hint of Morning Brew various brews or PitchBook News—it's increasing information throughput when you're pressed for time. And this feature is rapidly evolving to distill other key extractions from shows you're already interested in, but also exposing you to other shows you might be unfamiliar with that also have nuggets to share—and thus increasing your aperture yet still conscious of your time. Want to go deeper on any given episode? Click the episode detail and you're off to an episode on DeepCast, where you can subsequently read a longer form distillation of that episode or go straight to the source and listen to the episode. (And podcaster friends, these pages are definitely increasing indexing and thus Google entry points to your shows!) I'm loving this feature as a user, personally. Can't wait to see what others think! #BuildingInPublic #Podcasts #AllTheWorldsInformation #HowYouWantIt

Podcasting gurus tell us all the time that “consistency is key”. What they mean is “if you publish every Friday, make sure an episode goes out every Friday”. And while there’s merit in that, it can lead us to ignore some other important aspects of consistency, and that is quality. Ask yourself this: would you rather listen to your favourite podcast episode when it’s ready, or because they were able to scrap it together in time? I waited months for the finale of one of my favourite podcasts, and while that’s a tad extreme, it showed their commitment to putting out something of quality. Remember: a missed episode is only a problem for a week. A crappy episode you made to hit a deadline is there forever. #contentmarketing #tinypodcasttips

Creating separation in everything you do is a MAJOR 🔑 ALERT. “You must stand out from the rest in order to be the best.” - Myself For those not familiar with DJ Khaled, “major key alert” esssentially means “key to success”. On the ASOM Pod, we just announced our newest and biggest sponsor: Recharge I’ve always HATED traditional podcast ads. Anytime they come on as I’m listening to my podcasts I quickly fast forward past them. So I had to unlock a major key alert in order to create and incorporate an ad for them into our podcasts. “How do I create something where listeners don’t scroll past?” Then I quickly changed my thought process to, “how do I create something listeners will fast forward to?” What happened?? What did I come up with? Listen to the attached video and find out for yourself… P.S. Episode 8 is now LIVE on all major platforms and we talk Brand Vs. Company. Don't make these podcast hosting mistakes: 1 - Going on mega tangents. 🙃 The fix: Sketch out a story arc before you hit record. Make sure those side quests truly push the narrative forward. 2 - Planning what to say next while your guest is talking. 🎙 The fix: Fully sink into active listening. We're human, so we'll never be perfect at this, but being fully present in the moment and embracing the pause are skills that will level-up the conversation. 3 - Looking for a transaction over a relationship. 🤝 The fix: Know from the moment you reach out to a potential guest how you can help each other. This is a collaboration that should serve the listeners above all. If you're using a guest for clout or for any other reason, the whole episode comes off as less authentic. If you want to move from podcast host to capital H Host, go right now to Apple or Spotify and listen to the Shiny Objects Podcast! Your first podcast episode can make or break your show's momentum. After helping launch over 50 podcasts, I've learned what separates the hits from the misses. Here's what you need to nail that crucial first episode: 1. Start with a crystal-clear value proposition. Your listeners should know exactly what they'll gain from your show in the first 60 seconds. 2. Perfect your audio quality. Nothing screams amateur like poor sound. Invest in a decent microphone and find a quiet recording space. 3. Script your intro, but keep the conversation natural. Write your opening and closing, but let the middle flow organically. 4. Launch with 3-5 episodes ready to go. This gives new listeners more content to binge and helps establish your posting rhythm. 5. End with a compelling hook for future episodes. Give them a reason to hit that subscribe button. The best part? You don't need to be perfect. Your audience wants authenticity more than polished perfection. Focus on delivering value, and the rest will follow. What's your biggest concern about launching your first podcast episode? The Art of Removing Filler Words. “Um,” “uh,” “you know”—filler words can make a podcast feel less polished, especially in video formats where every hesitation is amplified. During editing, I carefully remove unnecessary fillers while keeping the conversation natural and authentic. This process: - Improves the flow of your podcast. - Keeps your audience focused on your message. - Elevates the professional quality of your show. For video podcasts, I also use smooth cuts to maintain seamless visuals, so no one even notices the edits. Want your podcast to sound clean and polished without losing its personality? Let’s chat about how I can help perfect your episodes!
