*change management* 4 weeks it has been since I have returned back to work from maternity leave. And so much has changed at Sana Commerce during the 12 months I was gone. ⏳ BUT what has stayed the same is that I really enjoy the work that I am doing (with a different focus now, but still in the partner business). 🧑🤝🧑 Yes, there are a few hiccups when it comes to processes and such but for me this is normal when working in a position that was newly created, so naturally one needs to find structure in the chaos first. That is what I am good at. 🌱 And what also hasn't changed is that we have people that care about what they do and that are good at their job and like making an impact and seeing things improve when implementing their own ideas. 🦸♀️ This is a work environment that makes me thrive and especially now working 100% remote it means that everyone who is in a call with me needs to put up with my level of energy. That probably is exhausting at ties but remember: positive energy attracts positive results ✨

One of the smartest habits I’ve picked up is setting aside time today to plan for tomorrow. It’s a simple routine, but it makes a big difference. When I know what’s coming up, I can start my day with a clear focus and a solid plan, which helps me get things done more efficiently. Taking just a few minutes to map out my tasks keeps me organised and on top of my priorities, so I’m not caught off guard by any surprises. At AMS, we make planning a part of our daily routine. It’s a small step that helps us stay ahead and maintain the high standards we’re known for.

Work-Life Balance as a Product Manager: Myth or Reality? Product management is a paradox: You’re expected to lead with clarity amidst chaos. Prioritize customers, stakeholders, engineers, and still somehow prioritize yourself. But let’s debunk the myth: work-life balance as a PM isn’t about equal hours—it’s about intentional choices. Here’s what’s worked for me after years of failing fast at balance: 💡 Think like a product. What’s your personal North Star Metric? For me, it’s energy. If my energy is depleted, I’m failing both at work and in life. I treat my energy like a resource to optimize: Daily retrospectives: Did today energize me or drain me? A “do-not-disturb” mode during personal time. 💡 Timebox everything. You wouldn’t let an MVP linger in development forever, so why let meetings or tasks overflow into your personal time? Schedule a hard stop each evening for personal life. Use Pomodoro for deep work—and deep rest. 💡 Say no. A PM’s superpower isn’t doing more—it’s doing the right things. “No” isn’t rejection; it’s focus. The same applies to life. You don’t have to say yes to every event, chore, or new binge-worthy series. Prioritize like a pro. 💡 Iterate on yourself. Your roadmap at work evolves, and so should your personal habits. Feeling burned out? Revisit your routines. Your needs change—so should your strategies. 💡 Remember: The product is you. Here’s the truth we often forget: You’re the most important product you’ll ever build. If you don’t invest in your physical and mental health, your impact at work will suffer. The next time you feel the pull between life and work, ask yourself: What would a great PM do? Prioritize, delegate, and iterate. Because at the end of the day, work-life balance isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress. What’s your biggest challenge or success when it comes to work-life balance? Let’s spark a conversation—I’d love to hear your thoughts. 👇 #ProductManagement #WorkLifeBalance #CareerGrowth #Leadership #PM #PMLife #ProductManagerLife #ProductLeadership #ProductivityHacks #PMTips #LifeLessons #Teamwork #FutureOfWork #Product #MindsetMatters #TechCareer #WorkSmart #ProductCommunity #PeopleInProductManagement #PeopleInProduct #PMCommunity #ProductManagementCommunity #WellbeingAtWork

"Finding harmony in the juggle! As a project manager, I know how easy it is to get consumed by deadlines and deliverables. But I've learned that prioritizing work-life balance is crucial for success - both personally and professionally. Here are some tips that help me strike a balance: - Set clear boundaries: Separate your work and personal space to maintain focus and avoid burnout. - Prioritize self-care: Schedule time for exercise, meditation, or hobbies to recharge. I have a dedicated self- care routine with simplistic, holistic practices which I religiously follow, one that can uplift your spirits and mood. Food for thought - good home cooked food, periodic detoxification and cold showers do wonders. Say 'no' to fancy stuff and return to your roots to see your whole being transform. - Communicate with your team: Delegate tasks and empower your team to take ownership. - Embrace flexibility: Life is unpredictable - learn to adapt and adjust your plans accordingly. By implementing these strategies, I've seen a significant improvement in my productivity, relationships, and overall well-being. Let's connect and share our experiences! I sent the following to my amazing staff today - If anyone else with experience leading change management has advice or words of wisdom to share - I'm all ears! --------------------------------------------- All staff, As I mentioned on today’s huddle call – last year we had 17 employees on our payroll. By the end of this year – I anticipate we will have 25 employees (and an additional 5 contractors) representing a growth spurt of at least 47%! There are still a few changes/edits to the attached including but not limited to adding a behavioral health care position – For now, (and with thanks to Mona for putting the attached together) thought you might all be interested in how the Org Chart looks as of today. Our remarkable growth is testament to your hard work, dedication, and commitment to our shared mission at Project Access Northwest. As we navigate this exciting period, I want to share a few thoughts to help us manage the change and continue our success together: Embrace Change: Change can be unsettling, but it is also an opportunity. Each new team member brings fresh perspectives and ideas that can invigorate our initiatives. Let's welcome their contributions and learn from each other. Communicate Openly: Effective communication is key during this transition. If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Sharing ideas and feedback will help us strengthen our collaboration and ensure everyone feels included. Focus on Collaboration: With new staff joining our ranks, it's a great opportunity to build stronger partnerships among departments. Let’s collaborate, share knowledge, and help each other thrive. Together, we can leverage our diverse skills for greater impact. Invest in Yourself: Growth isn't just about numbers—it's also about personal and professional development. Take the time to invest in yourself and your skills. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve, not just as an organization, but as individuals. Be Patient with Ourselves and Each Other: Change takes time. Allow yourself and your colleagues the grace to adapt. It’s natural to encounter challenges along the way; let’s support each other as we work through these adjustments. Celebrate Our Wins: Every milestone, big or small, deserves recognition. Let's take time to celebrate our achievements as a team. This fosters a positive environment and motivates us to continually strive for excellence. Thank you for your continued commitment to our mission and each other. Together, we can navigate this growth and emerge stronger than ever. I am excited about our future and confident in our ability to evolve while staying true to our core purpose. Keep up the amazing work! Gary

𝗧𝗢𝗟 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 🤔 🔊 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘃𝘀. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 In my experience sometimes this is the same person performing these roles and responsibilities and sometimes they are two different people. I don't think there is any 'right or wrong' in approach, sometimes it comes down to the size or type of organisation and the nature of the 'project' or 'change' being undertaken. I'd be interested in hearing from you on your experience whether in either of these roles as separate 'things' or performing both of them! Or if you were part of a 'project' or 'change' initiative in your workplace and experienced either approach, what was your experience. ❓ What worked and what didn't? ❓ What is the 'optimum' having someone perform both roles or having two different people? ❓ Should they be the 'same' person undertaking the project and change management role or in the 'ideal' world should they be two different people?
