According to the Economic Survey 2023-24 tabled by the union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament today, the number of DPIIT-recognised startups shot up to more than 1.17 Lakh in 2023, up from 300 in 2016, with 45% of startups emerging from Tier I and II cities👇 These recognised startups have reportedly created more than 12.42 lakh direct jobs creating significant economic impact, the survey said. Of these, 13K startups are working on new emerging technologies across sectors such as artificial intelligence, internet of things, robotics and nanotechnology. The spurt in the number of startups was driven by sustained efforts by the government spanning “simplification and handholding,” “funding support and incentives” and “industry academia partnership and incubation,” the Economic Survey said. #Budget4startups #startups #economicsurvey

Up to Rs. 2 Crore (~$250,000!!) in funding for each team/startup. Truly differentiated deep-tech in AI / Robotics / Autonomous Systems deserve deep support. Note this is NOT for side, part-time projects which you do because they are cool. If you have solid research to translate into products, that's wonderful, but this will work ONLY if you are ALL IN and serious about solving real-world problems for real customers and users. Translating that research to SOLUTIONS (not just cool product or tech) that the world cares about requires a lot of humility, curiosity and elbow grease to understand needs and build a team. Even brilliant innovators with breakthrough research will have 90% of their journey still ahead of them -- a journey that is possible ONLY as a team, with many champions and ecosystem support. And that takes deep support -- not another 10 or 20 lakh grant. That's why ARTPARK is willing to go deep. But only if YOU are willing to go deep too. PS: If you are a student team - apply ONLY if key team members are graduating by June 2024 and are going to take this up full-time.
📢 ARTPARK Innovation Challenge 2024. Up to Rs. 2 crore (~$250k) per team/startup, per year. Apply by 5 May'24 https://bit.ly/ARTPARKform Plus: Mentoring & training. Connects to deep-tech facilities, researchers, investors. If you are a deep-tech innovation team / startup in AI, Robotics and Autonomous Systems solving big industry or societal problems in ways better than the state-of-the-art, we want to hear from you. The ARTPARK Innovation Challenge 2024 is designed to provide support to various types of teams in various modes: grants, investments, innovators-in-residence. ✅ Deep support – financial and otherwise – for deep-tech innovations that will have a game-changing impact on the industry or society. ✅ Ability to leverage shared resources in facilities such as ARTgarage (for advanced manufacturing and testing), test beds for drones/autonomous systems, wireless/5G test bed, etc. ✅ Connection with investors/VCs who are genuinely interested in deep-tech startups. Some active participants in our programs: Accel, Ideaspring, Social Alpha and Speciale Invest. ✅ Mentoring/training program through which we help you understand your product-market fit. ✅ Access to a thriving ecosystem - in India and abroad - for cutting-edge research/tech collaborations. At the heart of the discussion was the pivotal role played by FORT and InnovateTN in empowering innovators with cutting-edge rapid prototyping tools and industrial technologies, driving competitiveness and growth within Tamil Nadu’s MSME sector. We reaffirmed our unwavering commitment to harnessing the Tamil Nadu Innovation Network, operated by Forge, to support EDII’s mission of fostering entrepreneurship and building Tamil Nadu’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. We are proud to have worked closely with EDII Tamil Nadu for nearly a decade, and together we’ve witnessed an incredible journey of progress. I personally remember the transformative moment when "innovation" was integrated into EDII, quite literally by adding the ‘I’ to EDI, marking the start of a new era that embraced innovation-led entrepreneurship. One of the key initiatives from EDII,TN over the last decade has been the launch of the Innovation Voucher Program (IVP), which was originally created to accelerate transformation and growth within MSMEs by offering design and innovation solutions. At Forge Innovation & Ventures, we remain committed and are consistently focused on leveraging this initiative in partnership with Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute and FaMeTN to make technology enabled entrepreneurial innovation accessible and impactful for small and medium industries. #Innovation #Entrepreneurship #MSME #Prototyping #TamilNaduInnovationNetwork #IVP
