Stop getting hyped up over the Tech industry. Don’t get me wrong, I love tech, and the possibilities of tech. But VC’s, Incubators, and all those fancy money men keep pushing companies to launch their products far beyond being fully ready for the market. As corporate consumers, how many times have we invested in a truly appealing sales pitch with colorful presentations only to be utterly disappointed by outcomes. Well, startups keep launching unfinished products that honestly need much more time in the incubators (thought machines). Now, don’t blame the entrepreneurs or startups, or even the VC’s and private equity investors… they’re all genuinely doing their jobs. But! We need to stop being blind consumers, and start being educated consumers. Every tech integration requires infrastructural changes to your business. Those changes cost big bucks, and include what’s normally overlooked expenses (like man hours, mistakes, data integrity, etc…) Don’t rush change, but embrace it carefully, and respectfully. By respect; I mean be respectful of the potential consequences of rushing change.

🚀 Founders Alert! 🌟 It's NOT about the latest tech craze. It's about the PROBLEM you're solving. 🔍 We live in a world where tech buzzwords dominate conversations, but let's not forget what's truly important in building a lasting startup. Having guided numerous non-tech founders, one mantra has always stood true: 🎯 Focus on the problem, NOT the technology. Here's the thing: technology is just a tool. The real magic? It lies in deeply understanding and empathising with the problem you aim to solve. Time and again, startups that make a real difference are those solving real needs, not just flashing fancy tech. From my 20+ years of watching ideas blossom into success stories, innovation springs from founders who see beyond the tech and grasp the core issues by their heartstrings. Why prioritise the problem? ✅ Your solution will be genuinely needed. ✅ Keeps you flexible, tech-agnostic. ✅ Speaks directly to your audience; they're here for solutions, not the tech specs. Adopting this mindset doesn't just birth successful startups; it enables founders to lead with purpose and crystal-clear vision. So tell me, are you tackling the real issue or getting dazzled by tech's bright lights? Let's refocus 🔍 on what really matters: solving authentic issues for real people. 💡 I'd love to hear how placing the problem at the core has sculpted your journey. Share your insights!

🗜️ Building a high-growth VC-backed startup has an experience compression ratio of 2:1. What do I mean by this? There’s a fierce debate among founders: bootstrapping vs. taking VC money. I see that the VC route is under scrutiny by many, especially second-time founders. There are many pro's and con's on both sides. However, one thing that is mostly forgotten in this debate is pace of learning as a VC-backed founder, for good and for bad. What would normally take 20 or maybe even more years to experience, you learn in 10 years. What route have you chosen and why? #bootstrapped #vc #growth — Hi, I’m Tom. I help deep tech CEOs build robust GTM functions in line with their tech advantage. The result? To all the people asking if we are looking for a fractional X, synergies in Y, and support in Z. I get messages every day from folks wanting disruptive time on our calendar without being specific about the project and why us/them, and they will send me 3-10 messages over as many weeks. Just a bit of research will save them a lot of time and shortcut the time to yes/no. Like many good startups, our team bends over backwards for our partners, are slammed working with our users on some pretty impactful missions, and internally, are quite committed to helping one another. We're not that secretive about them either. We're heads down doing some of the best work of our lives: research a bit, fix your reachout, and then I can give you a quick yes/no/let's talk. Save yourself some time by switching from spam mode => progress mode!
