I once read that we didn’t stop using wooden spoons because we ran out of wood, but because metal spoons were better. The same shift is happening in the EV market ⚡🚗. With 96.4% of new car registrations in Norway being fully electric, this milestone is setting a powerful precedent for the rest of Europe 🌍. The future of transportation is clearly electric, and it’s coming faster than we imagined 🔋💡. Thanks to electrive for the great daily news! There is an ongoing discussion in Norway about the road to zero emissions and achievement of 100% EV sales as a final destination already in 2025 when it comes to new cars. You are well aware, and I also write about this often, that Norway is a stand alone leader in Europe when it comes to the share of electric car sales. However, the topic of higher taxation on fossil fuel cars is coming up, in order to get to 100% electric cars sales as soon as possible. This is what I have been talking about on the daily evening news programme NRK1, the main public television channel in Norway. Thanks to Toyota Multipath strategy we are ready for any scenario. For us, selling 100% electric cars would be perfect, but if customers want to buy hybrid cars, we are also happy to sell those cars as long as customer wants then. At Toyota, we believe it’s up to a customer to decide what technology the customer wants to buy and in a gradual transition to zero-emission, offering a variety of solutions in this direction. After all, our mission is first and foremost to meet customer needs. Customer is king! Norway, moreover, is a valuable laboratory for the future of mobility. The lessons from here will certainly help to better prepare for the global transition towards sustainable transport. Of course, it has been underway for several years (slower or faster depending on the country), but the aspects emerging from Norway's pioneering efforts will certainly be emerging in places to come. #ElectricVehicles #Sustainability

In October 2024, new EU car registrations reversed their decline, recording a modest 1.1% increase, according to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ASEA). Spain led the way with a robust 7.2% growth, underscoring its pivotal role in driving the region’s automotive recovery. Let’s take a closer look at the distribution of registered vehicle types in Spain from January to October 2024 compared to the same period in 2023 🇪🇦 🟢 Hybrid Electric Vehicles: 37,7% (+6,3% pp) 🟢 Battery Electric Vehicles: 5,2% (+0,2% pp) 🟢 Other Fuels: 3,2% (+0,5% pp) 🔴 Petrol Vehicles: 38,2% (-3,6% pp) 🔴 Diesel Vehicles: 10,0% (-2,8% pp) 🔴 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles: 5,7% (-0,6% pp) The data highlights a clear decline in traditional vehicle types, with both diesel and petrol vehicles losing market share. This trend is accompanied by significant growth in hybrid vehicles and incremental progress in battery electric vehicles, emphasizing Spain's gradual shift toward greener mobility solutions and the need for continued investment in EV infrastructure. Free2Trip actively supports this shift by offering tailored solutions for EV travelers, such as optimized electric vehicle routes and sustainable travel options that contribute to a greener future. Norway is the first country to have more EVs than gasoline-powered cars in driveways – Charged EVs The Norwegian Road Federation—Opplysningsrådet for Veitrafikken in Norwegian—has announced a seismic shift in electric adoption: There are now more EVs on the country’s roads than gasoline-powered autos. There are currently 2.8 million passenger cars registered in the country and 26.3% are fully electric, just edging out the share of gassers. Diesels, however, remain the most https://lnkd.in/gWPAepTv
