Solar thermal provides significant benefits and in this case, generating 70% of the facility's heat demand and saving 50% in overall energy costs.
In our newest case study, Solar Thermal at the Indianapolis International Airport, RTC Solutions Provider Solar UV Solutions helped the Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) reduce #carbonemissions at its Consolidated Snow Removal and Equipment Storage facility at the Indianapolis International Airport through installation of 70 SunQuest 250 #solarthermal collectors on the roof. Between December 2021 and March 2022, the SunQuest 250 solar thermal collectors generated 70% of the facility’s heat demand. The solar thermal system has reduced the facility’s energy costs by over 50% and avoided 574 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. The system also minimizes the IAA’s operating and maintenance costs due to reduced usage of the natural gas boilers and the solar thermal collectors not requiring any maintenance. Future maintenance can be performed by facility personnel using the basic training provided by Solar UV Solutions during installation. Building on this success, the IAA installed 10 additional SunQuest 250 solar thermal collectors for domestic hot water heating at an airport fire station and is currently installing 15 more collectors for radiant floor heating at the IAA’s new Airfield Deicing Materials Storage Building in 2024. Nice case study Matt
Thanks for sharing this. We've got more solar thermal case studies on the RTC site, and another couple in the writing pipeline. #Solarthermal is a fantastic industrial decarbonization solution.
