The Trade Desk's decision to block advertisers' access to Yahoo's video content highlights the ongoing conflict between major players in the video advertising space. This move comes amid policy changes by Google that impact how video ads are managed, affecting not just Google but other industry giants as well. The crux of the issue seems to be the exploitation of the "in-stream video ad" term, which has led to a proliferation of low-quality video content aiming to qualify for higher-priced ads. Many news media sites, struggling with limited amount of video content, have been forced to get creative to meet these demands. However, the bar for qualifying video content has now been raised significantly.
