This is a MUST WATCH in relation to the ongoing AI conversation. My favourite band is unashamedly Starset. Many of you won't know the name but they often look to spread awareness of dangerous technologies and what the future might look like with these in the wrong hands. Their latest song 'Degenerate' is aptly named a 'Visualiser' rather than the classic 'Music Video' that people are so used to. This is because the entire visualisation is AI generated. A team of paid artists uploaded their work into an AI specifically to make an anti-AI statement. Interesting. Accompanied with the warning of what smartphones and other various technologies are doing to us, the lyrics also a warning of what might be to come. The key thing for me seems to be that they are more concerned about the human rather than the AI. After all, it's humans that shape the AI and humans that 'Degenerate' because of the way the AI is programmed. This is a song just as much about the people who craft and consume AI than it is about the intelligence itself. What do you think?

I love watching films about AI and how they try and predict where AI is going in the future. This film looks at one of the biggest fears - AI taking over! In the film humans connect to AI via a 2 way neural link (a bit like what Elon Musk is trying to do with Neuralink). You can see more AI films I like at https://lnkd.in/evm7KFQD #AI #innovation #future #movies

There are many things I do. It would be better to show than tell because actions speak louder. The advancement of generative AI for a wordsmith like me is fascinating because I have painted pictures with words for years. Thought a meeting with George Lucas and a tour of Industrial Light & Magic would fulfill the pathway to immersive storytelling for but in 2022, "George Lucas" became Midjourney, Runway, MiniMax, Suno, ElevenLabs, Luma AI, OpenAI and many more services are my own Industrial Light & Magic. Every poem and concept produced I have told through documentary, stage play, short film, television or through recording but now........? Wone

🎥 Can we be dogmatic? How far will AI go? I just read an article on RedShark News about The Brutalist and was impressed by how they used AI to refine Hungarian dialogue and craft unique visuals. Respeecher, an AI tool, polished subtle details, ensuring authentic performances without replacing the actors. It’s inevitable that AI will continue to reshape the film industry, but the question is: how will we use it to balance innovation and artistry? Also, it’s been mentioned that The Brutalist will screen in select locations in 70 mm. Will this be a cinematic experience worth exploring, or is it just a technical detail? 👉 What’s your take on AI’s role in the film industry?

I'm placing my bet now. Yes, of course, there has been resistance to AI-generated art. As well as fair criticisms that these systems build on the world's existing knowledge of art, photography, and graphic design...so it's kind of a form of cheating. But haven't we always looked back to the artists, writers, and creators that came before us, and then poised with new tools available to us, set out to create something based on those inspirations? So here's my bet — that while there will be resistance, this too will fade in time. Especially since we will be exposed to new forms of expression and composition that were never really made available to us. (Unless, of course, you were part of a $100M+ Hollywood SFX budget.) Yes, of course, there will always be legal and IP challenges. But when it comes to the actual creation of these things, I suspect that more and more talented artists and storytellers will start seeing these tools as an equivalent to their pen, their Adobe Suite, or their chisel. P.S. Take a look at the example below. I challenge you to share how this is like anything you've ever seen before. #AIportraits #art #design
