Excellent and comprehensive review of AI in healthcare. I appreciated the insight into AI models involving healthcare systems lacking accuracy, which validates our need to monitor and improve. Huge potentials, however. “According to the McKinsey analysis conducted for this article and based on today’s healthcare spending in Canada, a CA $14 billion to CA $26 billion per year net savings opportunity could be generated in the Canadian healthcare system in the near term by using AI at scale to improve quality of care, enhance patient and staff experiences, simplify administrative work, and optimize overall system management across the main areas of healthcare.” Enjoy the read!

AI: Transforming U.S. Healthcare Despite high spending, U.S. healthcare struggles with access, cost, and quality. Dan Mendelson and Virgílio “V” Bento reveal how AI can reshape this landscape: 1. Access: AI brings expert care home, eliminating wait times and transportation barriers. 2. Cost: AI automation could save $360 billion annually, streamlining processes. 3. Quality: AI enables precision care, as seen in physical therapy with real-time feedback. 4. Clinician Focus: AI handles routine tasks, allowing professionals to provide personalized care. 5. Employer Impact: Major healthcare purchasers can drive AI adoption through benefit plans. This AI approach challenges the idea that improving one healthcare aspect sacrifices another, offering a win-win for patients, providers, and payers. The future of healthcare combines AI's power with the essential human touch of clinicians. Embracing these innovations is key to creating an accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare system for all Americans. Four Key Trends for Leaders to Watch in Healthcare in 2025: As we approach 2025, key trends that signal profound shifts in the healthcare landscape are emerging. These developments highlight the industry's evolution towards innovation, efficiency, and equity, from the expanded adoption of AI in diagnostics to the acceleration of value-based care models. Artificial intelligence continues to redefine diagnostic precision, treatment personalization, and operational workflows. Yet, its success hinges on ethical deployment and equitable access. Similarly, value-based care models are gaining traction, requiring organizations to rethink how they deliver outcomes while addressing systemic barriers such as social determinants of health. Meanwhile, mental health, long underfunded and stigmatized, is finally receiving the attention it deserves. Integrating these services into broader care strategies will be critical for holistic patient well-being. As these trends take shape, healthcare leaders must embrace agility, innovation, and collaboration. Aligning technology with patient-centered models, fostering partnerships across sectors, and prioritizing inclusive care are essential to navigating this new era. https://lnkd.in/eJtMFWWv #HealthcareInnovation #HealthEquity #AI

🎯Electronic Patient Records (EPRs) play a crucial role in enhancing healthcare efficiency and integration, particularly within Integrated Care Systems and Integrated Care Boards. They are key to achieving a future where healthcare is interconnected, streamlined, and patient-centric. 🎯However, the adoption of EPRs faces significant challenges, primarily due to the integration limitations of current systems. These limitations often lead to a fragmented approach, preventing seamless data flow. 🎯In a recent article for Hospital Hub, Gary Mooney, a clinical solutions executive at InterSystems, discusses how technological advancements, such as artificial intelligence (AI), can revolutionize EPR interactions. He highlights how AI can personalize these interactions, streamline diagnostics, and optimize care pathways, ultimately accelerating EPR adoption and improving health outcomes. 🎯Read more: https://lnkd.in/dx8NZffc #AI #HealthCare #EPRs

It was a pleasure to co-author this op-ed with Dan Mendelson, bringing together the perspectives of Morgan Health and Sword Health on how AI could become the most transformative force in healthcare to date. Healthcare is notorious for its imbalance between demand and supply, creating significant barriers to accessing not only high-quality care but also timely care. For example, consider how long it can take to schedule a pelvic health appointment in the U.S. AI has the potential to close this gap by scaling clinical and care teams, enabling clinicians to focus on the human touch while allowing patients to receive high-quality care at home, maximizing comfort, convenience, and flexibility. By breaking down access barriers, AI paves the way for a future where healthcare delivers higher quality and an improved patient experience, all while driving down costs (an equantion that is impossible to solve with the current status quo). This, in essence, is the true promise of value-based care. We believe that AI should—and could—be the enabler of this transformation. This is what we’re currently seeing at Sword and Morgan Health, as we contribute in a collective effort to shape the future of healthcare. Check the article for more details on our perspective
