This June, the DoD is preparing to release Fulcrum, its new digital modernization strategy aimed at expediting innovation efforts for Joint Force capabilities and IT governance. To ensure our troops have the best resources available for joint missions and real-time decision making, it’s important that we continue removing barriers to modernization and enhancing digital interactions. Looking forward to learning more about this strategy next month. Check out more on Fulcrum here: https://lnkd.in/eDN4NNfW #DOD #DigtalExperience #ITModernization

Line of Effort (LOE) 1 in the DoD Fulcrum strategy focuses on providing joint warfighting IT capabilities to expand the strategic dominance of U.S. forces and mission partners. Capabilities for the 21st century must be functional, scalable, sustainable, and secure. LOE 1 is all about improved decision making and competitive advantage. It is about enabling swift and decisive responses to high-tempo, multi-domain operations. Ultimately, it’s about improving the warfighters’ ability to gain decisive advantage on the battlefield. That starts with ensuring warfighters across the joint and combined force can quickly and effectively use all the available data, now and in the future. This may seem obvious, but it depends on technology that can make use of both structured and unstructured data at scale. When it comes to data its about the right information to the right people at the right time. Data sharing agreements, protocols, and network infrastructure must enable global capabilities that share and access data across the DoD, IC, and our allies and partners. Simply sharing data and moving it around more effectively is not enough. We must secure the data, software, and transport against multiple persistent threats, and in degraded environments, from stateside garrisons to the forward edge of the battlefield. LOE 1 includes four crosscutting objectives to get this done: · Provide an intuitive and adaptive user experience. · Treat and secure data as a strategic product · Harness advanced technologies for strategic advantage. · Outpace adversaries with Global C3 capabilities.
