Mini'imah Shaheed’s Post

Fourteen years ago, I began my journey with KIPP Atlanta Schools fueled by a deep belief in the power of education to transform lives. In 2012, I had the honor of founding our first elementary school, KIPP STRIVE Primary School, serving as principal for five years before expanding my impact as Chief Schools Officer and ultimately as CEO. Through every challenge and triumph, my commitment has been unwavering—to our KIPPsters, families, staff, and the mission that binds us all together. With a full heart, I share that this glorious chapter of my life’s journey has come to a close. KIPP Atlanta Schools has been a defining part of my story, and leading our organization has been one of the greatest honors of my career. I stand proud of all that we have built together. The foundation we have laid is strong, and I have no doubt that the impact of our work will continue to shape our scholars’ futures for years to come. Above all, it is gratitude that defines this moment for me. Gratitude for every teacher who has created joyful and rigorous learning spaces. Gratitude for every staff member—our custodians, cafeteria teams, and operations staff—who ensure our schools are clean, welcoming, and filled with meals prepared with love. Gratitude for every leader who has embraced the challenges of this work with courage. Gratitude for every family who has entrusted us with their children’s futures. And most of all, gratitude for our KIPPsters, who remind us every day why this work matters. As I prepare to step into a new chapter, I do so with immense pride in what we have accomplished and enthusiasm for what lies ahead. Leadership is not about a single person—it is about building something greater than ourselves. And the work must continue…with courage, excellence, integrity, and love. No matter where my path leads, know that I’ll be cheering on our beloved KIPP ATL at every step. Love, Mini’imah 🎶: “Glory” Performed by Kidz Mic | Snippet Features Joshua Meredith & Isa Shaheed

No words, no deed, no tribute—no way—can ever fully capture the profound impact you’ve made on students, educators, communities, and professionals. You are the blueprint—the standard of excellence. May the love and light you radiate continue to blaze trails and illuminate the path God has destined for you and those who will share time. Thank you for all that you have done for my family, and specifically, my son, who found his voice through love.

You are truly an amazing leader with an even greater warm and amazing heart. Thank you so much for the blessing you have been to so many young people within the KIPP school system and Atlanta overall! On a side note, I can't wait to show your post to the kids (Kidz Mic). I'm sure they will be truly moved to hear their song set to your beautiful KIPP-felt moving imagery showing your powerful journey that started with "the school that love built". Issa did an amazing job on this project with them. Looking forward to watching and cheering your next adventure!
