When I first started on LinkedIn, I had no idea what to post. If you feel like this...this is for you. I had barely any followers. Zero strategy. No clue. Just a question running through my head: “Where do I even begin?” It felt like showing up to a networking event where I didn’t know a single person. I imagined what I’d do in real life. I’d walk in. Smile nervously. Go up to someone and introduce myself. Share a bit about who I am and why I’m there. And guess what? That’s exactly how you start on LinkedIn, too. So if you're sitting in front of your computer wondering how to start...start with you. I bet there’s something in your journey that others will connect with...I can guarantee that. But they can’t connect if you don’t show up and allow yourself to be seen and heard. We want to know: 1. Who are you? 2. What are you passionate about? 3. Why are you showing up on LinkedIn now? Answer these 3 questions, and you’ve got your first post!! You’re not doing this just to “create content.” You’re doing it to connect with real people, real stories, and real opportunities. So let people in. Invite them into your world. That’s where your story starts. If you need help on how to get started, this is why I created the Story Sellers Studio. Have you ever written an introduction post? 📸 Networking event a few years ago when I lived in NYC. Not going to lie, I do miss surrounding myself with professionals irl, but that's what LinkedIn is for!
Love this. I'm a big believer in just starting, you'll figure the rest out along the way.
Great tips Monica Miranda Wish I had started out that way.
Those three questions are a good starting point. And be yourself :) Monica Miranda
Love this - such an easy way to explain how you can start showing up for yourself through LinkedIn. You always give great advice Monica Miranda
Followers don't appear by magic. They come when you give them something real to follow.
That is so true because networking is difficult whether it is online or offline, but the moment you are able to crack this code exactly the way Monica Miranda have stated, it becomes explicitly easy for you to network, connect, and build relationships with people that will actually have the capacity to move you from point A to point B. But no one is saying it is going to be easy, but for an introvert like myself, I can tell you that it gets better.
I dream about going to New York during fall season! 🍂 did you enjoy living in NYC?
Most people overcomplicate starting on LinkedIn. Just show up, share your story, and let people connect with the real you.
Oh the wicked, where do I begin question ;-)
