Im telling you it works. Stuck without ideas? Go for a walk. The blood flows. Heart pumps more blood to the brain. The ideas can flow. Now, its how you regard those ideas that makes all the difference. Do you seriously consider them? Or do you discount them as just random abstract thoughts that others wont accept and judge or not consider at all? Some great ideas have gone “poof”. In the wind. I also find driving, not in traffic, another great place to come with ideas. As long as you dont daydream and take your attention off of your driving. Long drives on freeways are great for ideas. I also find warm showers a terrific place to spark creativity. Just standing there with your back to the water. I have come up with many ideas. Problem is, i am my own worst critic. I often put those ideas in the “unrealistic and would likely never work” file. Or i think i have the greatest idea until i mull it over. Sit with it for a few days. Then one morning i wake up feeling the opposite of creative and come back to earth. “It seemed like a good idea a few days ago”. Maybe my need to create is giving me dumb ideas. Too many thoughts that tend to battle each other for top spot in my brain. It is so important to find focus. Focus and routines will clarify. Writing down and recording those ideas you come up with is a must. Even if you doubt them. It gives them a tangibility. When you read or hear your voice talking about the idea, it makes them real. It gives them life. If they are just stuck in your head with no outlet, they die. Or as with me, they go back to the filing cabinet in my brain. Maybe they come back to the forefront of my thoughts during a walk. When that happens i should right them down. Maybe they were still there for a reason. It is all necessary to find clarity and simplicity. Clarity and simplicity is everyting. With those alone, you can rule your world.
