𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝘆 2050: 𝗔 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 The U.S. Department of Energy’s Blueprint aims to decarbonize U.S. buildings by 2050, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 65% by 2035 and 90% by 2050. The strategy focuses on increasing energy efficiency, reducing onsite emissions, transforming the grid edge, and minimizing life cycle emissions. It also emphasizes equity, affordability, and resilience, aiming to benefit disadvantaged communities, reduce energy costs, and enhance community resilience. The plan is crucial for achieving net-zero emissions economy-wide.
