Dyscalculia Awareness Day is today! In our #NDVoices article, #TeamNiB volunteer Olga Zilberberg discussed the impact of undiagnosed dyscalculia. From being subjected to descriptions such as ‘thick’ and ‘slow’ for her struggles with undiagnosed dyscalculia, Olga now has been able to to more clearly understand how her brain works. Her story of neurodivergence being treated as a personal failing instead of difference in need of support will resonate with all types of neurodivergent people. Olga also shares common signs of dyscalculia, so you can begin to understand people in your life who may have difficulty with math concepts that seem ‘easy’ to most. ⁉️ PS: What did you know about dyscalculia prior to readying this article? Has your perception changed? Tell us in the comments.
