I m excited to announce that I will be joining Apple Inc. as an NLP scientist to work on interesting problems for Siri. A lot of thought went into taking this decision. For quite sometime I did consider continuing for my PhD at CMU and seriously who won’t?! CMU has exceeded all my expectations and has provided me an unmatchable platform to collaborate with one of the best brains in my field. There is so much to solve and build for people, and Apple will be a great place to put my learning to use. I guess “My heart is (and will always be) in my work”. Moving ahead, I do want to continue reading papers and contributing to my field. So if you have interesting ideas to debate over, I would love to discuss them with you. Also, if you are aware of groups / communities that can help with this fancy plan of mine, I would be grateful! Lastly, I m moving to California. Your 2 cents on house hunt, investing in the states as a non-resident, or things to try while in the Bay are always welcome! #learning #nlp #cmu
