The communication duplex in networking refers to the direction of data transmission between devices. There are three types of duplex communication: Half Duplex (HDX) Data transmission occurs in both directions, but not simultaneously. Devices take turns transmitting and receiving data. Example: Walkie-talkie conversation, where one person speaks at a time. Full Duplex (FDX) Data transmission occurs in both directions simultaneously. Devices can transmit and receive data at the same time. Example: Telephone conversation, where both parties can speak and hear each other simultaneously. Simplex Data transmission occurs in only one direction. Devices can only transmit or receive data, but not both. Example: Radio broadcasting, where data is transmitted from the sender to the receiver, but not the other way around.

Unlocking the Power of Communication: Understanding Telecommunications Networks 📡 Telecommunications networks are the digital highways that connect us all, allowing data to flow seamlessly between users. Imagine a vast electronic web of links and switches, each carefully controlled to ensure efficient operation. These networks enable us to share information, make calls, send messages, and access the internet with ease. Whether it's a phone call to a friend or streaming your favorite show, telecommunications networks play a crucial role in our daily lives, connecting us in ways never before possible. #TelecomNetworks #DigitalConnectivity #DataExchange #CommunicationTechnology #ConnectivitySolutions #TechInnovation #Networking #DigitalInfrastructure #InformationExchange #TelecomEvolution Abhideep Das Deep J. Calling all wireless telecom geeks. A 1922 "Wireless Device" "Believe it or not, this device was advertised as a wireless telephone, but not in the way we’d expect today. The device featured in this 1922 clip is referred to as a “portable wireless telephone” but was actually a crystal radio, designed to receive radio signals without the need for an external power source. The description of wireless telephone is an interesting case of lacking historical context, as many devices at the time could use the word phone. However, this device was still meant to be a communication device, advertised to wives who wanted to reach their husbands while they were out, and a new way to reach people on the go. Although it wasn’t capable of two-way communication, the innovation at the time shows the forward-thinking approach towards mobile technology that has since advanced into our modern mobile devices." https://lnkd.in/gr78ZvK5

Yesterday we made a small but significant achievement at Offline Protocol — I got to watch a live demo of our first build establishing a successful offline connection between 2 devices to transmit multimedia data and achieve the first step in enabling censorship resistant communication infrastructure. But does this mean? Typical networks are structured in a way where devices have to connect to a central hub to pass information to each other. 🛜 / \ 📱 📱 With Offline Protocol, devices become hubs themselves and can share information directly with each other in a decentralized fashion without internet or telecom services. 📱🛜 —— 📱 This means that when there are local network outages or disruptions (think natural disasters, war, grid failures), or bandwidth limitations because of high density (think concerts, protests, malls), our users can still carry out basic communication, find and share information and resources, and carry out p2p micro-payments. The future is pretty limitless and we have a ton of incredible things that we want to work on and achieve via this simple idea.
