Last Autumn, Jo Taylor founder of After Breast Cancer Diagnosis and METUPUK and Eva Schumacher from Mamma Mia, an online German cancer magazine, (Eva is a patient living with MBC), were asked to be involved in a campaign about “platitudes”. What you DON’T want to hear and what you DO want to hear from family members, friends, colleagues and even random strangers, when you are living with an incurable disease. The results of this work have been presented in a poster session at ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology) Breast 248P this week and has won the best poster award! The findings were based on a survey of 249 people living with metastatic breast cancer. This report was initiated and funded by Seagen now part of Pfizer. Listen to Dr. Isaac Garcia-Murillas from The Institute of Cancer Research and Dr. Richard Chen, CMO and EVP of R&D, Personalis, discuss a study with leading world experts in breast cancer (Dr. Nicholas Turner from The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust) highlighting how NeXT Personal® was able to detect the smallest traces of cancer in the blood (ctDNA) a median of ~15 months ahead of scans in a cohort of 78 patients with breast cancer (all subtypes). In this robust study, median follow-up time was ~6 years and researchers analyzed 619 plasma samples (a median of 8 samples per patient). Learn about the results of ultra-sensitive MRD testing with NeXT Personal in Breast Cancer. #PrecisionOncology #LiquidBiopsy #MRD #ctDNA #BreastCancer #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth

🎗️ The Vital Role of Study Coordinators in Breast Cancer Trials 🎗️ As we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it’s important to recognize the patients and survivors but also the incredible teams behind life-saving clinical research. At the heart of every successful breast cancer trial are the investigators but also the Study Coordinator—a key player ensuring that research runs smoothly and patients receive the care and support they need. In breast cancer trials, where precision is crucial and patient well-being is paramount, Study Coordinators manage the complex logistics of recruitment, data collection, and patient follow-up. They ensure that every participant is supported, every protocol is followed, and every detail is documented—all while fostering an environment of compassion and care. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BreastCancerAwareness #PinkOctober #ClinicalTrials #StudyCoordinators #BreastCancerResearch #OncologyResearch #HealthcareHeroes
