Happy October 1st! 🎃 Today's HR post is about the HR Hotline and what topics, issues, and questions were trending during August. Think of this like a backwards crystal ball - what are your competitors looking at, what is HR interested in, and how are businesses planning for the future? The Top 5 Topics in August were: -Benefits at number 1. This includes things like the enrollment periods and questions on different types of plan funding. -Leave of Absence at number 2. This topic saw an increase in questions month over month. Interesting! -Wage and Hour at number 3. This topic decreased month over month but had questions in regards to tips and independent contractors. I feel like independent contracts and wage and hour questions are always happening. -State Employment Law at number 4. This topic saw increasing questions, including labor laws and milage reimbursement. -Discipline and Terminations at number 5. This topic saw decreasing questions, and some questions asked were around termination risks and employee resignations. The sheet also goes over what was trending last year, which is always interesting as a compare/contrast. Finally, it goes over the next few months are what was trending in 2023.
