Are you fighting an uphill battle? I am. And that's because I am trying to fix the K12 system. Yes, I know what you're thinking - "what? that's impossible!" But the truth is - ITS NOT IMPOSSIBLE!! And I've already proven it can be done. That's right - I proved there is a way to fix the K12 system once and for all. You probably never heard of me before. Hi, I'm Doc Schwartz and for the last 25 years I have been doing academic research, as well as reading every single piece of academic literature I could get my hands on. And from 2009-2019, I ran three (3) of the most successful pilot programs in America 1. The 21st Century Curriculum Project 2. The Teacher Development Program 3. The Principal's Academy What these three (3) pilot programs do is FIX our schools. Yes, they change the narrative around education and provide 21st century learners with the right tools, the right resources, as well as the highest quality education in the world. Which is why one of my former students was able to become a successful entrepreneur at the age of 23, without ever stepping foot on a college campus or taking one college course. WE CAN FIX OUR SCHOOLS!! If we want to - but that's the problem. People are dejected and feel defeated. Smart people have tried and failed to fix education before - so when I come on social media and say "I can fix our schools!" Everyone just assumes that I have no idea what I'm talking about. But I've done the work. I've done the research and I've also proven that these three (3) pilot programs work in the real world - not some Ivory Tower somewhere. Now into the detail at the Google Conference about how we view pedagogy… Fiona ,as always, makes it so clear about how education needs to be pupil focussed. Focus on the pace of children’s learning, what they have taken on board, how they have connected with the learning, the gifts each learner has, their dignity in learning,how technology can aid, enhance and promote their learning. The essential challenge is how we implement education and technology to make the maximum gains for all learners…time for change..

I had the pleasure of facilitating a seminar to Year 2 Computing ECTs on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation Leicester & Leicestershire Teaching School Hub and Teach First We looked at what it means to be intrinsically motivated and how, as teachers, we can foster this through strategies such as teaching concepts in smaller steps and providing worked/particularly completed examples. Lots of ideas and discussion on what this could look like in our classrooms and reflections on how we could improve our current strategies to further motivate pupils. #education #computingeducation #computerscience #ect #teaching #teachfirst
