Google's Quantum Chip Reignites Multiverse Debate Google's new quantum chip, Willow, has sparked renewed debate about the existence of parallel universes. The chip's ability to solve a complex problem in minutes that would take supercomputers billions of years to crack has some scientists wondering if it hints at the existence of a multiverse. While others argue that the chip's performance can be explained by other theories, the debate highlights the potential of quantum computing to challenge our understanding of the universe. https://lnkd.in/e37yw6vE #quantumcomputing #multiverse #sciencedebate

Google has unveiled a new chip which it claims takes five minutes to solve a problem that would currently take the world's fastest super computers ten septillion – or 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years – to complete. The chip is the latest development in a field known as quantum computing - which is attempting to use the principles of particle physics to create a new type of mind-bogglingly powerful computer. Google says its new quantum chip, dubbed "Willow", incorporates key "breakthroughs" and "paves the way to a useful, large-scale quantum computer." However experts say Willow is, for now, a largely experimental device, meaning a quantum computer powerful enough to solve a wide range of real-world problems is still years - and billions of dollars - away. #tech #google #digital #technologies #chip https://lnkd.in/djrfuw8F
