𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐲𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 6 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬. 🙃 Instead, I focused all my energy on SEO and content writing, convincing myself that mastering these skills was enough. 😔 But deep down, I knew something was missing. When I coach aspiring freelancers, I always emphasize one thing: Don’t limit yourself out of fear. I was making the same mistake for years. In 2024, I finally stopped running and practised copywriting. And guess what? 😄 It didn’t just add value to my skills—it multiplied it. ✅ Now, persuasive content is my superpower. ✅ My words don’t just inform; they convert. It’s funny how the thing I avoided most became what I love most. Sometimes, the skill you fear is key to bringing your full potential. Beginners’ Syndrome You don’t want to see yourself ignored. You don’t want to beg anyone to notice you. This is what I call “ Beginner’s Syndrome” Then what is the way forward to get out of this? Hone your skills, then wait for the opportunity and bang. Now your work will do all the necessary things where you want to see yourself without doing anything your dignity does not allow you to do. Mastering your skills is the first step but it requires a lot of patience to put into the next stage which is the marketplace. Now another important question? What to do at the time you are idle and waiting for your opportunity to avail. You can step up your skills by going deep into the specialty. Like, I started my freelance career by learning content creation entered the arena of copywriting, and then went further into direct response copywriting. It’s the best way to add value to your patience time by improving your skillset as much as possible before entering into the marketplace. #copywriting

People love to talk about themselves. And that's good news for anyone creating content. Ask the question... "So how has X situation been so far?" And don't be surprised at the response that follows. Maybe it was great. Maybe it wasn't. Honestly, the interesting stories have a mix of both. But getting the other person to talk about their experience unveils those little content nuggets that resonate most with your readers. When working with clients on crafting newsletters, blog posts, and social posts, it’s important for me to spend time extracting these stories. - Take the time to work through this discovery period. - Ask open-ended questions to get people to share. - And then find ways to extract the emotional elements in your content. “Brunna, don’t you think copywriting is sort of scammy?” ↪️ Is what my dad asked me after he’d read my last post. I get where he’s coming from. We’ve all been there: promised amazing-near-miraculous transformations by a company/ person selling us something… Only to realise that we’d been real-life catfished 😑 There’s no denying it: copywriting IS a very powerful tool. Some have even warned against it for being “mind control”. Here’s my take: If you know a tool that can steer people’s behaviour, you’ve also got a lot responsibility on your hands (think Peter Parker responsibility). ✅ You gotta promise things AND actually deliver them ❌ Ya can’t lie to your customer just cause it sounds impressive On the flip side… What if you’re someone who’s got an incredible product/ service that could *really* help people… BUT you can’t convince them to buy because you don’t know how? That’s just sad, and I see it happen a lot. ↪️ and THAT is my “why” Helping YOU - a purpose-led brand, a soulful entrepreneur - who has something *great* to offer the world but needs some help getting the YES from your customer Does this sound like you?
