How many allies do you need to win a cause? The answer depends directly on your position in society's power hierarchy. The more underrepresented a group is, the more voices it needs to be heard. Last week, private sector leaders from around the world gathered in São Paulo to address today’s most urgent global challenges, including persistent gender gaps and low representation and inclusion in business. It was inspiring to experience for two days the diversity of the planet at the #B20SummitBrazil. Interacting with people from different nationalities, colors, cultures, backgrounds, and industries further reinforced my belief in the power of diversity – it’s where innovation, creativity, and the boldest solutions come from to finally start moving the needle toward inclusive growth for a sustainable future. On behalf of the entire Action Council, I would like to thank everyone who attended the #B20SummitBrazil for the constructive debates, calls for action and for being there standing by our side. Thank you CNI - Confederação Nacional da Indústria for the outstanding organization, Fernanda Mayol and McKinsey & Company for being such an incredible knowledge partner, Amazon Web Services (AWS) for providing all the support, Rachel Maia, our Deputy Chair, all our Co-Chairs and each member of the Action Council who have been essential since day one. Thank you also to everyone reading this post, including you who is reading it right now (yes, you!). I invite you to read our Policy Paper, available in the comments, and become an ally in this cause so that our recommendations can move from paper to real impact in the lives of billions of women, black people, and all underrepresented groups living in G20 countries. The more allies we have, the greater our chances of winning our cause. Let's do this together!

My career started working around strong female leaders at a young age, and I’m grateful for how they inspired me and how they each had their own style to learn from as I evolved. As I’ve moved into tech, it’s been interesting to see how the industry has evolved over the years to become a more welcoming place for women, however there is certainly still more to do. There is a crucial need for meaningful research and action in this space and I'm excited to share a new report created by AND Digital that delves into this topic in much more detail: "Rewards and Resilience". The report dives into the dual experience of women leaders in tech, surveying over 200 women leaders in tech roles to highlight the successes and challenges of being a leader in the industry. Download the report to get involved in the discussion and let me know if you want to get involved.

9 in 10 women have experienced gender bias on their road to tech leadership, and yet, 89% still say they love their jobs. The path for women in tech hasn't been the smoothest. Despite making up 50% of the UK workforce, our industry sees women only occupying just 5% of leadership roles. Why? We surveyed 200+ female tech leaders to answer that question. In this eye-opening report, 200 women share the candid, inspiring and difficult experiences that have shaped their career journeys. From determination, success and love for the job; to the bias, imposter syndrome and lack of support that holds women back. Our report provides reassuring validation for other female leaders, inspiration and advice for aspiring leaders, and a blueprint for businesses who want to do better. I can’t hear you… Can you Speak UP!? Last week we kicked off NetApp’s Speak Up! EBC program sponsored by NetApp Women in Technology We are empowering our female talent to tap into their YOUness and build their confidence to literally Speak Up! as presenters in our Executive Briefing Centers. According to McKinsey, only 25% of computing jobs in the United States are held by women. The statistics remind us of the journey ahead: despite progress, women remain significantly underrepresented in tech leadership roles. But here's where the magic happens: companies with gender diversity at the executive level outperform peers on profitability and value creation. That’s why I’m proud to be an executive sponsor of this program. We’re helping NetApp’s women to tap into their superpowers and not only break the glass ceiling, but to SMASH through it. Speak Up! is about finding out that special recipe burning deep within you that makes you, YOU. It’s your YOUness equation. It’s about understanding and building your own beliefs, removing barriers, and taking ownership of your superpower and turning your dreams into reality. Because trust me, we each have a wildly fulfilling and purpose-led life to live. It’s just a matter of having the courage and ambition to do the work to find it. All this to say, your voice matters, and your story matters. The time is now and we want to hear YOU, so Speak Up! #Empowerment #WomenInTech #ElevateWomenVoices #ExecutiveBriefingCenter #SpeakUp #EBC #WomenLeadership #WIT #NetApp
