I was joined by James Gallen and Tom Sharwood on meetings yesterday. What struck a chord with me was hearing a wonderful client of ours say the words "you actually take the time to understand what we need. We had another 5 agencies on the PSL, and now I just want to speak with you guys". First of all, huge credit goes to James Gallen for doing a stellar job in going above and beyond for his network. It is evident that James is in a league of his own when it comes to breaking down technical requirements into linear search processes that yield quick results. It was actually quite funny to hear that James just failed on a test it typically takes 3 years in industry to be put forward for and only miss out by several marks. Astounding that his knowledge is that good. Shameless plug I know. However, if you're looking for industry experts in the Cyber Defence space, look no further than James and Tom. As I was reflecting on the above statement made by Vice President of the WiCyS West Africa Affiliate, Audrey Mnisi, I began to appreciate how the Cybersecurity industry has evolved. In the era of (IT/ Communication Security), the industry was made of mainly #technical folks and people in the #military. Now, the industry has changed tremendously and we're embracing people who studied Arts, Business, etc. These career changers, such as myself, bring along a fresh perspective to the #cybersecurity industry that we may not get from people who studied say computer science or engineering. We need more cybersecurity #professionals in this industry as we're not just protecting #systems but #humanity at large. Have a productive week! #cyberjobs

It provides tools that help strengthen the stability, security and performance of cyberinfrastructures and IT systems used by government and military agencies. Just like a weapon firing range, a cyber range functions as a training ground. On a firing range, soldiers practice their marksmanship, refine their tactics, and prepare for real-world combat scenarios. Similarly, in a cyber range, cybersecurity professionals train, develop, and test their skills to ensure they are ready to defend against real-world cyber threats. 𝘾𝙮𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙧 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨, 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨, 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙨. What are some good places to look for entry- level roles? Any networking advice that you might give to them? Specific cyber games groups or associations? Conventions? Some of these professionals are seasoned veterans who have worked in areas that require a very high level of attention to detail (i.e. parachute rigging), but they have not worked in cyber. They're looking for their shot to show off their skills and education, just need that initial break. How can they start? What would you recommend for them?
