Nice article on AI/ML role in design and test from several perspectives. One point that I tried to make which I think it really important is that AI is a tool and doesn't replace engineering innovation. An example I like is the "south pointing chariot" used about two thousand years ago to navigate across land. Great technology and cool engineering. However, a much simpler method was developed around a similar timeframe which was probably 1000x more accurate - the compass.
AI/ML’s Role In Design And Test Expands: https://lnkd.in/e9ZuxFPm The enthusiasm around AI and machine learning is being met by robust infrastructure changes in the ATE community to accommodate the need for real-time inferencing of test data and test optimization for higher yield, higher throughput, and chiplet classifications for multi-chiplet packages. For multi-core designs, packetized test, commercialized as an SSN methodology, provides a more flexible approach to optimizing each core for the number of scan chains, patterns and bus width needs of each core in a device.
