This is a good reflection if we want to drive change in healthcare. We’ve seen how diabetes treatment has evolved in recent years, but we also know there are still unmet needs and much more to be done. Currently in Latin America, more than 33 million adults live with diabetes and about half of them are undiagnosed. In Novo Nordisk LATAM we are committed to improving the quality of life for patients. We never stop thinking about this, and we continue to seek ways to innovate even further, so people with diabetes can live well today, tomorrow, and in the future. #DrivingChangeinDiabetes #WorldDiabetesDay

Health to Hope provides a care-coordinated approach that reduces healthcare costs and improves the quality of life for individuals living with chronic kidney disease (CKD). As patients progress through the later stages of CKD, their health often declines rapidly, and healthcare costs skyrocket. A kidney transplant is the preferred treatment for patients and the most cost-effective option for payers and employers. However, many patients are unaware of the criteria for waitlisting and are unprepared for a transplant, leading to prolonged time on dialysis. Health to Hope changes this trajectory by helping patients overcome barriers and expediting their path to a kidney transplant. By improving patient health and reducing costs for employers and payers, Health to Hope transforms the transplant process into a smoother, faster journey. Early treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) can slow or halt its progression, improve quality of life, and reduce cardiovascular risk. Sadly, 90% of patients with CKD are undiagnosed. During UNGA79, AstraZeneca — together with co-sponsor Boehringer Ingelheim and partners the International Society of Nephrology Global Patient Alliance for Kidney Health, and co-host Devex — convened leading voices in global health and policy for a critical discussion on the urgent need to implement patient-centred and evidence-based policies to enable earlier detection and diagnosis of CKD and immediate access to care and recommended treatments. Here's a great example of how our National Poll on Healthy Aging works! Last year, our poll team worked with IHPI member and College of Pharmacy faculty member Sarah Vordenberg, Pharm.D., to ask people age 50 and older about their views of #deprescribing - that is, cutting back on the number or the dosing of prescription medications if a health care provider advises it. Now, just days ago, she and our team have published a paper giving an even deeper dive into the findings, and showing an important need for individually tailored discussions, especially for those who take medications that reduce symptomless risk factors such as hypertension and high blood sugar. Learn more about the newly published findings: https://lnkd.in/g9q-YfxB IHP members who work with our poll team to develop questions and write reports also get first crack at the full data set from the poll. But after a while, we make the data available for anyone to use for free! See available data sets at https://lnkd.in/gyitH2tw
