In response to a recent question on applying Pecha Kucha in a practical setting - here's how to run a retrospective: 1.💡Set the Stage (2-3 mins): Quick Pecha Kucha intro for first-timers. 2. ⏱The Pecha Kucha Show (6:40 mins): 20 slides, 20 seconds each. Use an auto-timer! 3. 📝Reaction Time (5 mins): Team jots down thoughts. No discussion yet. 4. 🔍Deep Dive (30 mins): Use slides as talking points. This is where the magic happens. 5. ✅ Action Planning (15 mins): Identify, assign, and deadline key action items. 6. 🗣 Wrap-up (5 mins): Quick feedback on the format. 👉Pro Tip: Once your team is familiar with the format, you can skip steps 1 and 6 to focus more on discussion and action planning. 🎨Pro Tip 2: Make your slides highly visual. Here are some examples: - Velocity: A visual comparison of planned vs. actual story points. - Burndown Chart: Show daily progress throughout the sprint. - Team Metrics: Display key KPIs like code quality, test coverage, etc. 🔑Remember, the goal is to spark meaningful conversations, not just present data. I’ve attached a sample presentation to get you started! 🎯 Let me know if you give this a try—I’d love to hear your experiences! #ProductManagement #ProjectManagement #PechaKucha #Agile #Scrum #SoftwareManagement #SoftwareDelivery #Communication #Leadership #Efficiency #AgileRetro #ContinuousImprovement #SprintRetrospective #TeamEngagement

💡 Agile Tip #12: Keep the Backlog Fresh Regular backlog grooming (or refining) is key to keeping the team focused on what matters most. A clean and prioritized backlog helps ensure that the team’s energy is spent on delivering the highest value. How often do you refine your backlog? 🗂 #BacklogManagement #Prioritization #agility

“Stories get their name from how they should be used, not what should be written”. For me, this sentence from Jeff Patton's User Story Mapping captures the essence of the Agile Manifesto, which states: “Individuals and interactions over processes and tools”. Stories should be told with the goal of achieving a shared understanding - that we both talk about the same thing and have the same thing in mind. A good user story should have a short but descriptive title and the who, the what, and the why. For whom are we building this? What exactly are we building? And, often forgotten but important for decision-making during implementation - the why. I personally find it easier to come up with acceptance criteria during Planning Poker sessions rather than beforehand.

If you want to 10x your productivity as part of a product team, this article is for you: https://lnkd.in/gKRcteiw Here's a short summary: ➔ Set a fixed timeline for your project, allow the scope to remain flexible ➔ Ask - "What's the best version we can deliver in six weeks?" ➔ Shape your problem well before beginning to build the solution ➔ Bet on 2-3 high priority projects rather than an endless backlog I wrote a post on problems in the Agile framework: https://lnkd.in/gUsUa98j This article is a solution to those problems.

80/20 Pareto principle for decomposing big tasks You can achieve 80% of the result by investing only 20% of the effort. This ratio is of course conditional, but you can find a point of application of efforts, where with relatively little effort you can achieve the main part of the result. 🔜 For example, this law is also applicable to decomposing big tasks if we break a big task into several smaller ones. Look at the example in the PDF. ❓ Do you apply the 80/20 rule to your task decomposition? Share your experiences and tips in the comments below! #productivity #timemanagement #taskmanagement #projectmanagement #efficiency #8020rule #Paretoprinciple #paretorule #8020rule #taskdecomposition #prioritization #workoptimization #agile #lean #timeboxing #goalsetting #success #productowner #productmanagement #productmanager

Prioritization is the key to making the right decisions, both in life and product management. By focusing on what matters most, you can boost productivity, reduce wasted effort, and achieve better outcomes. In product management, frameworks like RICE, MoSCoW, and Kano help streamline this process, ensuring your team is aligned on what will deliver the most value. Mastering prioritization isn't just a skill—it's a necessity for long-term success. #product #roadmap #prioritization #strategy #RICE #MoSCoW #Kano #PM #agile #scrum #value #growth #focus #features #impact #decisions #lean #user #execution #development #planning #data #insights #management #backlog #alignment #productivity #vision #delivery #business #success
