Is there a danger in undervaluing Supply Chain Management ? I do say Yes - getting > 50 - 75 % material and innovation from your supply base triggers importance to actively control material costs, mitigate risks and create value on that front to stay competitive in the market - Staying away from it and eliminating heatcount does not improve competitiveness and costs more than it saves

Enhancing visibility is crucial to optimize supply chain performance. Organizations need to track key metrics to identify areas for improvement. Gaining visibility into the root cause of performance issues enables targeted corrective actions. Even simple tools like Excel spreadsheet trackers can have a significant impact. Visibility provides: 1. Insights into supply chain dynamics 2. Identification of bottlenecks and inefficiencies 3. Data-driven decision-making 4. Ability to create targeted corrective action plans 5. Improved communication with internal and external stakeholders Some benefits of enhanced visibility include: 1. Increased inventory turns 2. Improved on-time deliveries and fill rates 3. Cost reduction 4. Enhanced supply chain resilience 5. Better collaboration and alignment among stakeholders By gaining visibility, organizations can develop a data-driven approach to supply chain optimization, leading to improved performance and competitiveness.
