In Dec 2023, a significant investment in Nuwa Robotics was announced by our parent company Singapore Tembusutech Innovations. Nuwa Robotics is known for its cost-effective products and significant advantages in the field of industrial and service robots. Its industrial robot products, leveraging Foxconn's rich experience in manufacturing, provide highly efficient and accurate automation solutions that are widely used in manufacturing, logistics and quality control. Meanwhile, Nuwa's service robots, which benefit from its expertise in artificial intelligence and robotics, demonstrate excellent interaction capabilities and flexibility, and are suitable for use in a variety of fields such as education, healthcare and customer services. The highlight of the investment is the establishment of a service robotics incubation platform in Singapore, which aims to leverage Nuwa Robotics' advanced hardware technology to support local robotics application development teams. The incubation platform programme will focus on supporting the development of robots for applications in education, healthcare, retail and home services.

Nice interview by ABB's Brandon Spencer with WSJ's Luis Garcia on the decentralisation of the conglomerate's CVC unit down to the relevant business units covering electrification, motion, process automation, and robotics. https://lnkd.in/eV7maFZV H/T David! The final piece was Ana setting up ABB Motion Ventures earlier this year https://lnkd.in/eE_UJQcW to complement Electrification Ventures under Mads as well as Robotics and Discrete Automation Ventures overseen by Claudio with guidance from Kurt from the central ABB Ventures (last year's GCV Powerlist awards write-up is here: https://lnkd.in/e72J4JhK Such decentralised CVCs are often set up after a group is de-merged - think Siemens Energy etc - but as many of the largest groups have multiple CVCs anyway (GV, CapitalG, Gradient, etc at Alphabet, etc) or combine in-house and external corporate venturing approaches there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach. The challenge is to match maturity with operating model and understand the potential questions and challenges each will bring at the inflection points most CVCs will go through. I'm excited to share that I've just become lead investor in the current expert investor funding round of S1SEVEN | Digital Material Passport. (https://www.s1seven.com/) S1Seven has developed the leading Digital Material Passport as-a-service solution for the steel, metals, and chemicals sectors, already trusted by leading material suppliers such as BASF or thyssenkrupp. The solution automates and integrates the process of sharing key material data, e.g., on reduced product carbon footprints or increased recycled content within the customer's ERP system and inter-company across the value chain. S1Seven already was one of the top five emerging steel technology startups in 2020 ( https://lnkd.in/e84utmgT) and has now scaled to expand into further materials sectors. I'm particularly thrilled as this solution is a key enabler for the digital product passports that will soon become mandatory for all regulated products on the EU market and is thereby helping to drive the transition to a more circular economy. If you're interested in the subject, I recommend checking out their website and, obviously, do reach out if you'd like to learn more. #digitalmaterialpassport #digitalproductpassport #circulareconomy #steel #chemicals #metals Stefan Grüll Hannes Stiebitzhofer Alexander Koppel
